Haha! I agree, that's always nice. Sure some people might complain about books like that becoming formulaic and such. And there is something to be said about that. But if you enjoy the formula, it's nice having a fresh infusion every year or so without having to agonizingly wait. :) Definitely room for both approaches though!

Me, I love Seanan McGuire/ Mira Grant :) I also am behind on her stuff, so I have so much of her stuff left to read, it's great.


Margaret Maron decided to end her Deborah Knott series after 20. In her FB post that announced the end, she referred to a short story about a group of mystery writers who vowed to knock each other off before their series "jumped the shark"; she claimed she was trying to avoid that fate. She ended the series nicely.
I have tried a lot of new authors the past two years based on recommendations from Jen Yates and FoE. It's always a disappointment to find a book you love and learn it's the only one. (I'm talking about you, The Night Circus and The Goblin Emperor).
