RED (aimme) | 6854 comments sure sure if you may! I was thinking that Aslan is a dark mage that likes to fight with his own strength but he can over hear someone selling faes or something that are caged?

Bookwyrm Ouroboros Sure!)

Lysikah
My head lolls to the side as I stir. Eyelashes flutter, my violet eyes blink rapidly to adjust to the dim lighting. Where am I? Carefully getting to my knees I feel around trying to find something. Dry, prickly straw touches my fingers, crinkles under my legs. I rub my throbbing head. Something outside shifts, then clatters, making my dark cell bounce. I yelp hitting my head on the low ceiling. Reaching out to steady myself I find my prison nothing more than a crate. A wooden crate, like the ones those traveling merchants carry. Scrambling towards one tiny crack in the wood I desperately look out trying to see where I am.

In a quick panic my magic swells, heating my fingertips, but poofs out a moment later. It isn’t until we hit another bump-another shard splintering to shine in more light-when I realize the binding runes tattooed on my wrists, my ankles. I swallow thickly.

Nehras
The minute word spread of another shipment coming in I Was waiting at the “market” for their arrival. Several others walk around, desperately trying to look busy and not at all interested in the fact that more Fae were coming in. I suppose the traps were working better than expected. Last I heard they were barely getting a nibble. However they accomplished the task doesn’t matter - all that does is finding one with enough power to end this wretched war.

RED (aimme) | 6854 comments Aslan:
It's been a long long night. The end of the battle with the warlocks of the east had finally ended with the elimination of all of the warlocks and the kingdom took the children and women away for the slave trade. It was a bit of a harsh reality but at last it was none of my business. I'm a lone mercenary that just wanders around the country side.

A dark mage that belonged to no one because i was an outsider to everyone. Which was fine by me because at times of war that's when my jobs are much more needed in order to take down lords at a time. I slip into a market that was neutral to everyone. It was neither for mages, warlocks, demons and other creatures. It was for whoever can get their drink on and pay their shit.

I walk into the bar and right away i see a couple getting booted out because they were wasted. I just headed towards the corner and ordered a bottle of black blood whiskey.

Bookwyrm Ouroboros Nehras
Soon enough a dozen horses and their carts come charging into town, including a dozen merchants and their grunts. I step to the side, smirking as more men (a few women dotted in the crowds of testosterone) flood the street in excitement. I laugh under my breath. Fools. Begging to be first when that’s no option for them.

I wait for the carts to stop and for the orcs to unload before I shove through the crowd to one of the merchants. He meets my gaze and opens his mouth but I slip a couple gold coins into his pocket, guaranteeing first pick of the litter.

Lysikah
My panic swells as we come to a halt, bile rises in the back of my throat, my restricted magic nearly making me vomit. I swallow thickly. Just then the box I’m in moves, tilts, and rocks a bit before settling back down. My head bumps the wall once more. I wince.

RED (aimme) | 6854 comments Aslan:

I was already on my third cup of whiskey when i hear the entire bar go into commotion. Something about new merchandise and that they had new faeries that weren't just elemental ones. I didn't realize that i had come at a time when the black market brought in their faeries to the mages.

I finish my bottle and for a while i wasn't at all drunk as i wanted to be. I just wanted to be out of the picture and just mind my own business. But when i go out the crowd was kind of pushing me towards the huge carts of merchandise. For a second i just stop and see what was all this about.

Rue:

My entire head felt like it was throbbing from a massive migraine. I don't even remember what was the last thing i did.... I mean i remember coming out of the lake after a quick bathe. But i think i heard the cry of an animal and then something hit me on the back of my head.

I try to open my eyes but i realized that i'm blindfolded and i have a mouth guard as well. My hands were tied behind my back and i just growl under my breath. Whoever attacked me realized i wasn't an elemental fae

Bookwyrm Ouroboros Nehras
Each crate is labeled with one symbol - symbols recognizable as the elements. I study one carefully. “What’s in here?” I ask the merchant. He grins with a one-toothed smile.

“Ah, she’s a wild one. Plenty of power to her,” He comments eagerly as the unmarked crate (Rue).

“I’ll take her,” I say without hesitation, smirking with the fact that I know she is female. My eyes flick to the second box beside the first. I arch a brow. Scorch marks mark the corners of the crate. I look over briefly before returning my attention to my prize. I hold out a heavy pouch to the merchant. He takes the money greedily while he goes off to help another with choosing a suitable... “source”, if you will.

message 24: by RED (new)

RED (aimme) | 6854 comments wait so what kind of fae is she then?

Bookwyrm Ouroboros (She’s not elemental, she’s more like raw energy that can me used to heal others. But often enough she has difficulty controlling it so it comes off as electricity)

message 26: by RED (new)

RED (aimme) | 6854 comments (oh oh okay!)

Aslan:

It was odd seeing people go straight for the fire elemental faes and the ice ones. Due to this war feas tend to wander around strong elementals. Water faes are used more or less for healing purposes than anything else, and the earth faes have gone down in value because they're used more for crops reasons.

I see many scatter over and i see some nasty looking idiot eyeing inside of the crates. Oh god, i could even tell why that guy wanted a fae, a female one to just be plain about it. I bite my lip and just acted before thinking when i got to this crate noticing it had some weird marking but... i could feel the energy and it was a girl.

"I want this one." I said to the merch just on time for the sleeze ball to move along

Bookwyrm Ouroboros Lysikah
I peer through the splintered wood trying to find whoever just spoke. Another voice cuts in, tongue clicking. He snorts. “Yeah, right. Ya can’t even ‘Ford her! “ the merchant announces loudly. “Even If ya could - she’s spoken for.”

I wince. Then he pats the top of the crate. I leap backwards in the tiny box. A hard fist slams down. I shriek. “‘Ey! Watch it! Hopping around in there won’t gotcha out of there any faster!”

Curling up in one corner I press my hands to the wood, summoning at least a pinch of energy trying to break through the stiff prison. Only to be met by a sharp pain emanating from the runes. I swallow a pathetic whimper.

message 29: by RED (new)

RED (aimme) | 6854 comments Aslan:

I heard the whimper in the crate and something inside of me just didn't want to leave her like that. I never want to just turn my back on someone especially when i could literally feel her fear radiating out of that crate. I glared at the man my aura seeping out.

"I will let that comment slide, because obviously you don't want to upset a customer." I growl and reached into my bag and took out five bags filled with gold and jewels before i tossed it in front of him.

"Oh oh sorry lad, my misstake." The man started grinning and spitting when he opened the bag and handed me over the runes in control of the crate. I made a quick spell sending the crate to my hiding spot before i disappeared in a shadow.

Rue:

I was hearing a lot of voices and honestly i didn't even know what they were saying at one point in time. I felt completely disoriented and the only thing that i could think of doing was slamming against the wood crate hard before i fell back and was flailing on my back

Bookwyrm Ouroboros Nehras
With a wave of my hand my purchase and I vanish a flicker of flame to my mountain home. Tossing off my overcoat I unlatch the lid and shove the heavy wood aside. My frown deepens at the sight of the woman inside, muzzled and bound like an animal. I unbuckle the muzzle, remove the blindfold, and her other restraints, throwing them aside. I hold out my hand to help her out. “I’m not going to hurt you,” I tell her soothingly.

Lysikah
Silence falls. Then there’s a shift and the box thumps. I jump anxiously, bracing myself against the wall. I hesitate a moment before I try to summon my magic once more. Pain stabs my chest. I choke back a scream and clutch my chest. Another rune. I bite my lip.

RED (aimme) | 6854 comments Aslan:

"Woah hey! Don't hurt yourself I'm going." I said to the box that was jiggling every time that she tried attacking it. I just took a breath and just worked on the runes until i was able to open the crate and look down to see a terrified fae.

"Hey it's okay, I'm not here to hurt you i promise. Just let me know are you hurt anywhere?" I asked her seeing that she was slightly bleeding from somewhere.

Rue:

I hear a voice all of a sudden and a presence that was somehow coming towards me. I felt the muzzle being taken away along with other restraints. I closed my eyes a little and blinked through the adjustment of light before i notice the man in front of me. I was slightly confused and i looked around to see that i wasn't in any wooden area.

"Why am i here?" I asked him looking at him with skeptical eyes,

BUT BLACK

Bookwyrm Ouroboros Lysikah
“Who are you?” I demand, staring up at the man from my huddled position in the corner of the crate. Keeping my gaze locked on him I push myself up out of the crate. My feet touch stone, and I grip the box for support. My back pops as I stretch and straighten my spine. My head throbs from all of the bouncing in the crate. When I try to step forward I stumble. My grip tightens on the box. “Who are you? Where am I?” I demand again through gritted teeth.

Nehras
“To feed me,” I answer bluntly. “But first things first. Are you injured at all?” My gaze inspects her body from head to toe. I don’t need her passing out on me when it’s time for magic transfers. I make note of the minor scrapes and bruises. With a soft couple words I touch the injuries. Warmth blooms across her skin as I heal her.

message 33: by RED (new)

RED (aimme) | 6854 comments Rue:

I looked at him shocked that he was telling me that i was here to feed him. At first i was confused until he started watching me from head to toe when he touched at one of my winds. My eyes literally almost popped out of their socket when i see him heal me. Wait am i his food? I looked back at the man and i take off.

I slip into the shadow of the crate and disappear and popped back up at the side of his cabin. I don't have enough juice to move too much in the shadows. My feet touch the cold floor but i just take off running into the woods.

Aslan:

I place my hands up in the air to show her that i wasn't carrying any weapons of any kind that she would need to worry. "My name is Aslan, I'm a dark mage and i... tried saving you from the black market." I said to her

I reached over to carry her in my arms and went over to my sofa where i placed her down.

"Does it hurt anywhere?"

Bookwyrm Ouroboros Nehras
A fire wall blocks her escape. I join her at her side. “If you’ll let me explain for two minutes, you won’t need to worry about me killing you. I’m not a cannibal,” I sigh. Then I take hold of her wrist, getting a feel for her magic. She still needs to rest. And eat. I tug her back towards my mountain home, the stone work easily disguising the entrance. “Come. You need to eat.”

Lysikah
I hesitate. The angry black rune tattoos throb all over my body as if warning me no to even try using magic. It’s a moment before I finally point them out, even the one on my chest. I wince as the cotton shift grazes the sensitive skin. I hold out both of my wrists for his inspection, my ankles the same way. “They restricted me when they found me,” i whisper

message 35: by RED (new)

RED (aimme) | 6854 comments Rue

I gasped shocked that he just appeared out of nowhere. I looked at him clearly scared out of my mind when I feel him just sense me or something. What does he mean that he won’t eat me like a cannibal? Then what on earth does he want from me?

“You don’t tell someone that you want them to feed you without something to follow after the statement.” I said to him when he takes me back to his place all of a sudden.

Aslan

I looked at the runes and I shake my head in disgust. “How on earth can they do this to your kind?” I said hovering my hand over her runes chanting a magic under my breath and they disappeared. But they still left red marks and some wounds behind.

“I’m going to get some first aid, don’t go anywhere before I fix you up.” I warn her.

Bookwyrm Ouroboros Nehras
“Well I’m sorry I was more focused on healing your injuries rather than my own appetites,” I reply and leave her a moment so I can get something for her to eat. I grab a jar of mixed berries and a bowl of greens. Mixing the two with a dash of spices I bring the bowl over to her as an offering. “Here. Eat first, then we’ll talk,” I insist firmly.

Lysikah
The moment he releases my body from the runes’ hold my body goes lax, exhaustion coming over me like an ocean wave. I suck in a sharp breath as my head kills to the side. The man leaves me to get something but my magic, finally free, already goes to work on my wounds. I bite back a whimper as my magic tries to heal the angry red welts left behind in the wake of the runes. I look over to see the man rifling through different things. My vision blurs slightly when I try to focus on what he’s looking for, but the pain forces me to close my eyes.

I was not going to lose someone. I mean I’m way too comfortable in ending lives. I guess a part of me just wanted to at least help someone. Just... to be able to redeem myself in the smallest way possible. I grabbed some soothing oils and disinfectant.

I go back to her and see her so much in pain. I go to her side and placed a bowl his some anesthetic and disinfectant elixirs. I saved a clean cloth in and gently dabbed it on her hurt places.

“I’m so sorry this happened to you.”

Bookwyrm Ouroboros Lysikah
He dabs the places where my magic has failed. I slump back into the downy soft sofa. “Who are you?” I murmur without opening my eyes, far too spent to even try. The damp cloth feels cool against my burning skin. My breathing deepens with my muscles easing up. “Thought mages... hated us,” I add as an afterthought. His hand pauses on my arm after touching one of the blemishes. I hold my breath awaiting his response.

“I’m more or less a lone wolf kind of mage. I’m a mercenary if you must know. I think my kind calls me the most shameful job description of all.” I whispered to her cleansing and going past all of her wounds before I reached back and grabbed some bandages and started wrapping her up.

“I don’t hate faes, I mean they’ve never done anything bad to me so it’s not like I’m going to go off in a war and drag you all in the crossfire.” I explained to her. Then I see her torn up clothes. “Let me get you some clothes.”

Bookwyrm Ouroboros Lysikah
“They’re one’s to talk about shameful jobs, aren’t they?” I murmur. “You’re not the one hunting Fae just for power kicks. Nor are you the one slaughtering those who don’t comply.” Forcing my eyes open I blink until my eyes adjust to the light and push myself up in a sitting position. Testing my feet I take my time getting to my feet and walk over to meet him. “Now what convinced you to buy a Fae? Just looking at you, I know that wasn’t your purpose.”

message 41: by RED (new)

RED (aimme) | 6854 comments Aslan:

I went into a closet and just hear her trying to tell me that i wasn't that bad compared to the ones that are actually kidnapping them. "I don't know about that, my toll count would tell you something different." I said trying to make some dark humor but i really didn't know.

I turned around with some pants and a shirt when i see her in front of me. "Uh... i tend not to be in town when the market comes by with your kind and... i saw someone giving you a bad look so i guess i just went in and tried to spare you the pain."

Bookwyrm Ouroboros Lysikah
I give him a curious look. “Do I make you uncomfortable?” I ask bluntly, taking the offered clothing from him, the only mark left on my wrists a ruddy blush. I stroke the simply made garments before sliding the pants on under the shift. Then I pull the large shirt on over my head. The shift I had been wearing simply falls away, the seams given out. I hold the waist up of the slightly too wide pants. The shirt ends at my knee, which leaves the open neck hinting at my ample cleavage.

I shove my strawberry blonde hair from my face.

RED (aimme) | 6854 comments Rue:

I really didn't know how to respond to him just trying to command me to do things that i wasn't really sure if he had an ulterior motive. I just glared at him a little bit before i looked at the bowl in front of me and heard my stomach growl a little. I groaned in defeat and reached out to grab a berry and popped it in my mouth.

"Talk. Now. Please." I tell him

Bookwyrm Ouroboros Nehras
“Alright. As you may know, the mages are currently fighting a losing war against warlocks. While both sides have growing losses we mages need an extra push. This is where you come in. You will lend me some of your magic until we end this god forsaken war once and for all,” I answer rather curtly. I’ve never been good at small talk. Or explanations for that matter.

message 45: by RED (new)

RED (aimme) | 6854 comments Rue:

I take another bite of the berry when he basically tells me why he bought me and why i couldn't leave him because he was in the middle of a war with warlocks. That just made me clearly pissed. "How the hell is that my people's fault? SO you're having an ego contest against another magical beings and you're dragging us fae to the ground with you."

I was appalled and i was not going to take part in this ludicrous rampage.

"Now release me at once, I am not your property."

Bookwyrm Ouroboros Nehras
My hazel eyes flicker red. “I never said it was your people’s fault, now did I? And this is not some petty ass pissing contest, this is a matter of treason. One of those double agent bastards slaughtered our king in cold blood. They don’t deserve the quick death some of them received. They used their resources; we are just using ours,” I snap coldly, my eyes burning flame.

message 47: by RED (new)

RED (aimme) | 6854 comments Rue:

"I am not a resource!" I snapped right back at him my own eyes turning completely black when he started yelling at me and just trying to force down my throat why i should just let him use me like a god damn destiny stone of some kind.

"You're not using me, because i am not your slave. I sympathize with losing a leader but i would never enslave a creature for the purpose of power."

Bookwyrm Ouroboros Nehras
“You’re putting words in my mouth. I never said I’d enslave you. Now stop,” I reply, really beginning to get frustrated. Maybe I should drain her. That would calm her down for sure.

message 49: by RED (new)

RED (aimme) | 6854 comments Rue

“I apologize but paying for someone and forcing them to stay by your side is pretty much the definition of being a slave.” I snap at him my tone somehow calming down just a little when I noticed he wasn’t yelling at me anymore. I leaned back against the chair and I just looked at him.

“When can I leave? If I’m not a slave to you.”

Bookwyrm Ouroboros Nehras
“You can leave when either this war ends or when the traitors head rolls. Whichever happens first,” I answer gruffly, checking just to make sure I still have my daggers on me. With magic being as taxing as it’s become on the physical body it’s always better to keep weapons on hand. “Today, you rest. But as soon as your able to travel we’re going to the front lines,” I add.

The warlocks May have retreated from the villages in The Valley but that doesn’t mean they’ve given up. We’ve still a ways to go before we claim even half the land they took during battle
