Book language variants in goodreads

Hi friends,

I was thinking if goodreads has an easy option to find a book variant in another language. Normally I find my way around and 90% of the cases book titles get an obvious translation thus you can search directly in your own language with success but that's not always the case.

My though is, when I bump onto a highly esteemed book on the original language, I can easy check if a translation is available.

Side feature to that (apparently much harder to have), would have been to also know if a publish license has been granted on another language so that you know if a translation is work in progress for new books. At the end of the day, find out if a translation is planned and upcoming. I presume this could require feedback from foreign publishers which might not be easy to have or maybe it could be enough to just have a flag from the original publisher if interest and licenses has been given. Still there's a feedback dependency here and cannot be solely a goodreads feature.

Thank you in advance for any replies.

BR,
Panos

Really, the easiest way is to look on other websites, find the ISBN/ASIN and come back to Goodreads and search for it here.

I know people have been asking for a language filter on the editions page, but it's not there yet. Additionally, the language on book records defaults to English, so if someone hasn't updated it, the filter wouldn't work anyway.

But this is the type of suggestion you can post about in The official feedback group.
