There's no way I'm counting DHG at 604 pages. I would tell you to update to the 960 or whatever it is I used. There's 500 pages books out there with a third of the word count, yes I looking at you Michael J Sullivan, of DHG. That simply isn't fair. For Malazan I'm using the highest page count I can.

I've been using whispersync on the re-read and going at 2X while I follow along. I think I could actually go 3X because I know the story and what to look for. Doing a first read on audio has to be very difficult.

It is so beautiful though - I am so in love with Erickson's writing, I can listen to it for ever!!! Well, I will need something happy in between, or I will live for ever in depression though...:):):)

SE is the best. 2X is a perfect speed for the narration once you know the story. The narrator takes some seriously long pauses in spots at 1X.
