Laura (lauradragonchild) I'll take MC has special powers also. Just found a short book to match.

message 252: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments I finished A Fashionable Indulgence for Set in England. It'll also work for Historical fiction.

message 253: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments I'm starting Single Malt. It works for Set in US, Published 2017/18, and Debut.

message 254: by Laura (new)

Laura (lauradragonchild) Finished A Darker Shade of Magic for First in Series and am more than halfway through my book for animal perspective.

message 255: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments I just finished a book for MC has special powers. Laura have you started the one you found yet

message 256: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Ok I see you reported Laura. So
My Alcatraz book can be for special powers and am about to start
The Final Frontiersman: Heimo Korth and His Family, Alone in Alaska's Arctic Wilderness for proper name in title

message 257: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments It sure gets tricky trying to follow all this at times. I guess that means a lot of books are being read though

message 258: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Ok I see Alcatraz went to proper name. Let me look at things for moment before starting my next book

message 259: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments It is rather insane. Particularly as people only indicated they could read 26 books total when we started.

I have used that book for proper name, as I want card 1 to be finished. But I see you are starting another proper name book. But Laura said she's going to start a special powers book too. I am sure we can make them fit somewhere though. If we have to wiggle things around.

I am going to bed, I won't be back on for about 12 hours. Read well.

message 260: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Sorry Travis. Complicating all the things.

message 261: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Ok reading book for hat on cover
Alliance of Shadows. Alliance of Shadows (Dead Six #3) by Larry Correia

message 262: by Laura (new)

Laura (lauradragonchild) Finished the book for Animal perspective and on to Family Relationship and 1900.

@Rusalka - if you want me to read for another category and not MC with special powers just let me know. I don't mind.

I'll finish the 2 reads I started now by tomorrow evening. Then I can jump onto something else.

message 263: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments You're good Laura. We put my special power book to proper name and I'm reading a hat book instead

message 264: by Laura (new)

Laura (lauradragonchild) Thanks Travis. :)

message 265: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments I finished Single Malt which fits Set in US, Published 2017/18, and Debut.

message 266: by Beth (new)

Beth (eparks4232) | 2556 comments I finished my nonfiction, but don't think I'll get through anything else before the end of the week. Sorry. I guess I did read more than I thought, though, so I probably shouldn't apologize!

No need to apologise, Beth. You have done a great job 🙂

Casceil | 2728 comments Rusalka wrote: "It is rather insane. Particularly as people only indicated they could read 26 books total when we started."

We have a great team. We're also a tad competitive.

message 269: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4030 comments We're doing so well! I am 25 percent into my second book. Although it may be far fetched but I was just wondering what categories we have open in card 2 just in case I finish my book tomorrow and have another day to read?

message 270: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Beth wrote: "I finished my nonfiction, but don't think I'll get through anything else before the end of the week. Sorry. I guess I did read more than I thought, though, so I probably shouldn't apologize!"

no apologising at all. Thanks for all your reads

message 271: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments So I plugged in the last reads and committed tasks to the main spreadsheets, and pushed the planning to the back of the spreadsheet.

What we have currently being read:

Card 1 -
Pragya - female author
Poongothai - Epistolary style book

Card 2 -
Laura - 1900s
Laura - MC has special powers
Casceil - Witches/Wizards
Lisa - US
Travis - hat
Laura - family relationship

Still need:
Historical fiction
Mountain setting
Planes or trains
Classic

I was reading a book to move Poonogthai's male author to hat, but Travis has that covered now (hah). I am going to keep on going as we could move that book to classic. However, I am at work, then we have Shakespeare in the Park tonight, and then my cousin is arriving tomorrow afternoon, and my house hasn't been cleaned since the beginning of Jan. So I will try but no promises I'm afraid.

I also will not be on Goodreads for the next 12 hours or so.

message 272: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4030 comments I can try historical fiction for my next read but can't promise anything.

message 273: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Oh shucks I quickly scanned posts and didn't see the part about the hat book.

message 274: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments I finished Finders Keepers with the idea of it being used for Standalone, and The Gentleman's Captain being moved to Historical fiction.

message 275: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments Why not move my original hat book back to Hat and I'll read a quick Romance! That way Travis can look for something else and the romance is easy for me to find.

message 276: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Travis sivarT wrote: "Oh shucks I quickly scanned posts and didn't see the part about the hat book."

All good. I like you on hat. As I say, I am not putting any money on me finishing the book, and that will be an easy complete.

Because he's already reading a hat book.

message 278: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments Sorry, I thought he hadn't started one yet and that he hadn't been looking for one.

message 279: by Pragya (new)

Ah, so are we covered for historical fiction now?

Heh no worries, there is a lot going on.

message 281: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Ah crap, sorry Pragya. Yes, Jmom had a read on the go which she moved around the board.

message 282: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4030 comments Rusalka wrote: "Ah crap, sorry Pragya. Yes, Jmom had a read on the go which she moved around the board."

Sure, not a problem. Then I shall focus on home cleaning on Saturday which I was trying to run away from. :p

message 283: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments Yeah I'm about half through my hat book and this will be my last so no more new puzzle pieces from me

message 284: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments This whole time zone thing really had an affect in this group. I'm not sure I've been on such a diversely spread toppler team before. Makes it more challenging for sure

message 285: by Laura (new)

Laura (lauradragonchild) I am almost done with the Family relationship book and will start MC with special powers in an hour or so.
I can do one more last book. But which category should I fill?

Mountain setting (or another 1900s if we move your other book), planes and trains, or classics are left on card 2

Indeed. Benefits and hindrances

message 288: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments So usually I do my book listening while I feed cows. It takes about 3 hours and works beautifully. For some reason I just realized I'm not listening to a book. Or anything. I'm just working to engine hums. I'm gonna go get my headphones here shortly. Would have been funny if I never finished my book because I just plain forgot we we're in the middle of a toppler

message 289: by Laura (new)

Laura (lauradragonchild) I have options for all the 3 categories. which one do we need more?

message 290: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Looking at the spreadsheet, planes and trains would complete the column. The others will also complete a column but relying on other peoples reads. The rest of Planes and trains' column is already completed, so that would be guaranteed points.

Would The Night Train at Deoli and Other Stories work for Trains and planes?

message 293: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Read well. I'll see you all in the morning :D

message 294: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments No idea from the blurb, Laura. Criteria is "Books with planes or trains (significant to story)"

message 295: by Laura (new)

Laura (lauradragonchild) OK. I'll look for something else.

message 296: by Laura (new)

Laura (lauradragonchild) How about The Christmas Train. Will this go? I think the whole book is a bout a train ride.

message 297: by Rusalka, Moderator (last edited Feb 16, 2018 06:16AM) (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Sorry Laura, I have no idea. Never heard of those books before. I'd read through things you have and make a call based on what I linked above. That wasn't that your first book didn't fit, that was just a cut and paste of Kristie's rules.. You have much more info than us, so read the FAQ thread and see if that helps.

It's past 2am I need to crash. night

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments Laura wrote: "How about The Christmas Train. Will this go? I think the whole book is a bout a train ride."

Yes, it works. It takes place on a train and that does affect the story.

Sorry Rusalka. I didn't realise it's so late in your place. It's only 7 pm over here. :(
