Pride and Prejudice discussion

I cant remember neither title nor author. I just put Jane Austen so it will let me post this query. Story is set up in Victorian era I think. It's about this English lady who lives with either her mother or aunt and is completely subjected to the latter. She must think and act as she is told. She can't speak her mind but as the story progress she learns to dare and be less frightened to say/do as she pleases. I think her name is Catherine but not sure. I studied this book years ago when I was studying English literature and would love to re-read it again. Any help would be welcome !! thanks

When I started reading your description, of the girl being subjected entirely to her aunt's instructions I thought, "Persuasion!"
But then you said Catherine, so I'm pretty sure it's "Northanger Abbey."
