Mark (mark12000) | 4 comments So I've been looking for a few books (Or webnovels or something that is posted on RRL for example) that is a LITRPG but set in the modern day, but it doesn't have to be in real life. A good example is a fiction named Artisan on RRL, it's set in a game world where the MC chose to be an alien AI in a world of super heroes in the modern day.

Another example is Super Sales on Super Heroes (Kindle Unlimited on Amazon), but while I'm enjoying it, I'm not too fond of harems and when the MC can be pushed around and does whatever they are told or don't refuse to do something by someone a lot they get annoyed or angry at.

So, does anyone have any recommendations? They don't have to be a published book or e-book, they can be works in progress on sites like Royal Road Legends (RRL), or be published (preferably) through Amazon Kindle Unlimited.

LITRPG - For anyone that doesn't know what this is, it's where there are game like elements, whether it be status screens, levelling up, etc.

Craig | 1 comments I don't want to be 'that guy' promoting his own stuff, but it just so happens to fit what you're looking for. It is called Level Up and it is a modern day light LitRPG set in the real world. It's a comedy, so that may or may not be your cup of tea :)

I should add it is launch week, so it is 40% off at the moment.

Lawrence Ambrose (ambrose2014) | 2 comments Hi, Mark -

My new novel, THE AMBROSIA QUEST, set in a virtual alternative version of the current USA, might interest you. I may have stolen a line from Super Sales on Super Heroes somewhere in my novel. :) If you enjoyed SSSH (which I did), you might enjoy TAQ.

rich | 1 comments I’ve been reading the ‘System Apocalypse’ series on KU. I’m on the fourth book now and still enjoying it. Set in modern day and earth is transformed into a dungeon world, and along with that comes character sheets, stats and all the rest. But of a sci-fi rpg.

Darren | 5 comments I just finished Shadow Sun Survival which is an apocalyptic story that is well written. I think you would enjoy. I did. It's only in Book 1 at the moment and I hope to see Book 2 at some point.

Joshua | 2 comments Give The Game of Gods: The Beginning a try. It's an apocalyptic story set after the gods have changed earth to fit their whims.

Conor Kostick | 2 comments My book, 'The Dragon's Revenge' is set in the very near future. It is real life, rather than our world transformed. A bit like Fayroll, if you know that series.

Peter John (pjauthor1) | 6 comments You might like the novel, Abduction Chronicles: GENESIS. It is based in modern times. A military Science fiction combined with LitRPG, GameLit and Fantasy. It has been well received and is especially relateable if you have done any military service or admire the comaraderie Spec Ops soldiers enjoy.
