Alexander (alexanderstad99) | 6 comments I've been meaning to read this one for a while now, and I thought it would be a neat idea to go through The Man in the High Castle with a buddy or more. I was thinking of starting it this Monday (or anytime early next week), so if anyone wants to join me please feel free!

Yep! Alternate history dystopia, I suppose. It's set in an alternate 1960's where the Axis powers were victorious in World War II, taking place in the United States (which is occupied by Japan and Germany). That's the premise of it, and I am not sure how bleak it is in comparison to something like 1984.

Thank you for the links!

Alexander (alexanderstad99) | 6 comments The author also wrote Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, which the original Blade Runner film was very loosely (to an extreme degree) based on.

Blàthnaid | 1 comments I’ve picked it up this week from the library, I’m finishing Pausewang’s fall-out first and then moving on.

Ezra | 1 comments I've read it multiple times. Enjoy! It rocks.

Alexander (alexanderstad99) | 6 comments I'm about two-thirds of the way into the novel, and I like it! The multiple perspectives are neat, and the fact that the setting feels grounded, instead of a 'join the resistance to fight back against the Nazis' kind of story. That novel is also really neat, especially in how ideal it makes its alternate victory for the Allies in comparison to actuality. It could have also been really depressing, but so far everything seems rather 'normal'.

For anyone who has read the novel and also seen the series from a couple of years ago (Amazon original I think), how do they compare?
