the attack as well - while i get that they needed to resolve some of the characters that had ending story lines, i don't know that it was necessary in the manner that it was done.
I'm with you - in the sense that i'd love to know what the original ending was meant to be. i'm curious who was going to be alive or not at the end, and what plots were being continued.

I know! it wasn't really good of an ending, but the rest of the book was amazing! even if it had taken longer to publish or write, I would have wanted a better ending.

I think aspen should be executed. and it was totally not appropriate for aspen to walk her down the aisle

Well, I suppose the ending was far too fair.
Aspen... could not feel love for America anymore at the end (because I guess he saw her with Maxon on bed cuddling), however he just wanted America like a kid needs his mother to get him to sleep or else he would cry. Maxon always loved America the night he saw her in the garden, and America said her father that she feels herself around Maxon.
The ending was weird but still made sense at least. Maxon as the King was slowly getting rid of castes and America as Queen would do a wonderful job herself. America found that her dad and Kris were with the Northern Rebels. Well Aspen finally found love in someone else and I am glad it was Lucy. Sad Queen Amberly had to die too, I didn’t mind King die. I was angry at him myself. Ugh! Marlee and Carter were in the end out in front of all that was a good thing. Everything went well in America’s life. How better could this series end?
Go team #Amaxon or #Merica or #Maxerica !

Well that sounds GREAT , I would love that to happen too. Honestly, I wanted more in the end just like you said but it would be FANTASY's FANTASY. LOL! ;) This series is great, I loved every part of it. Mrs.K has done an excellent job.

“Oh, darling, you didn’t need to get me anything. Every day with you is a gift.” He leaned in and kissed me.
“Well, I hadn’t planned on getting you a gift, but then something presented itself, so here we are.”
“All right then,” he said, placing his glass on the ground. “I’m ready. Where is it?”
“That’s the only problem,” I started. I felt my hands begin to shake. “It won’t actually arrive for another seven or eight months.”
He smiled but squinted. “Eight months? What in the world could take . . .”..."
The Epilogue is here guys check it out.... I am so excited for more books you should also check out the video on the website above.... *jumping in joy*

so many revelations: Her dad a rebel? Kriss also a rebel? Who would have thought!!! And what is their role in the ending? would her dad's contacts be somewhat of help to her? Where does the fact that Kriss has that huge of a secret stand?
so many choices for America: Would she choose Maxon and submit to the king? or would she stand to her cause and refuse to bend to his will? And what is she going to do about those ever viciously growing southern rebels? and what of the northern ones?
There were so many issues at the end building up and America's determination growing and her dad's letter urging her to fight for her beliefs that, I don't know, I guess was waiting for something more spectacular to come.
The attack and then the king and queen -Whom I still resent her complete devotion to her husband and refusal to open her eyes and see the tyrant in him- dying and all their problems coming to an end. Just like that. Like it's god's Christmas gift to them.
The southerners issue coming to an end so easily. And no one even noticed that the guards in the hall are complete foreigners. like really?
It felt all so rushed. And the protagonist was confined in a room during all of this not even participating in the fall of the previous evil!
America didn't even make the big choice; was she really just going to obey the king?
I was left high and dry after all that teasing and then nothing. I don't get a big showdown; America doesn't put the king in his place. Maxon never stands up to his dad to defend the love of his life as his dad insults her. Aspen just BAAM forgets all about Mer and is suddenly head over heals about her maid.
Not to mention Celeste's uncalled for death. Did she really have to die after all that character development she'd undergone?
I can't put my frustrations to word, it's just after the two last books and the beginning of this one I expected something more. like the book was left with undone ties and our characters never faced their fears. or confront each other about their issues.
I guess all I could say is that the foreplay was far better than the sex itself!!!

I'm so excited that she wrote another epilogue! It is so sweet... It reminded me of why I liked the series so much. I agree with many of the people here, the original ending felt a little rushed. I felt like there could be another book to wrap up everything that happened in the last 50 pages.
The decision to write another epilogue was definitely a good one! I have warm fuzzys again... :D

I totally agree Samantha, The ending was cranky but still the book would have been much longer than it is if she tried to end it in a better way... However I am excited for the new book The Heir I am sure it is gonna be about America and Maxon's Daughter. *Freaks out* *Jumping in joy*

Anna-Cosette wrote: "I loved this series a lot, but at the end of this book I was left feeling weird. The ending to me, though it was as I expected (them getting married), felt odd... Rushed, maybe? I'm not quite sure ..."
the ending was ok for me i kinda wished it was longer :(
I also didnt like how Maxon got mad when he saw America and Aspen hugging, HUGGING NOT EVEN KISSING and that was dissapointing cause I thought Maxon would have caught them kising and sent them to be hit infront of everyone like what happened to her friend. I was also upseet about the Queens death she did nothing wrong!! the king was disapointing casue I was expecting so big show down with him and American and Maxon. Apsen just ended up with the maid (forgot her name) at the end and there was not int or anything about that which got me mad. I felt she did this because Apsen had to have a ending without AMerica and with someone else cause she would end up with Maxon. ALso I was suprised Apsen didnt even fight with Maxon over America after what he said in The Guard (as you guys can see I love drama and just hoping for some more drama and the One)

Yes, Aspen and Lucy was really forced for me. Would have been better if it was just hinted that Aspen was starting to like someone else and not them acting like they've been together for a loooong time.

Yeah that was disappointing but I am excited for the Heir and The Queen and she is making another book (i dont know the name) in the selection series!

Yeah I just read someting saying she is going to combine them but there is also going to be 2 separate novels.

“Oh, darling, you didn’t need to get me anything. Every day with you ..."
Oh my god thank you soooo much for showing me that! It was so amazing! I am even more excited for the Heir now! An, to answer the real question of this conversation, yes I did find the ending slightly rushed. It wasn't necessarily odd. Although, that Maxon would let Aspen, as someone who wanted to marry America for the longest time, walk her down the aisle is very strange. Anyway, cant waitfor The Heir!!

all events whether happy or sad were wrapped up for the wedding even if it did not seem realistic or made the slightest sense. the plot dragged out where it should not have.
