171. 'The Nurse With Wound List'. On the first two Nurse albums appeared this list of artists, said to have been influences on the group (as it was in the beginning). Mr Stapleton later claimed some didn't even exist, but research seems to suggest all in fact, did. http://nwwlist.org is where to go; click on 'artists' then on 'named' which contains all those on the list. The albums included are merely suggested. You don't have to stick with them; anything by that artist is ok. Nothing from the 'Related' or 'More' sections please. There should be plenty of bands known to all but the most sheltered of souls! You will get kudos points for the weirder side of things though.
172. Songs about getting married - Val (pipe down all you cynics! I want to see lots of brides, rings, bells, aisles, chapels, weddings, etc)
173. Songs with sound effects in them (thunder claps, breaking glass, cars revving up, roaring crowds, dogs barking etc. etc.) - KJS

And we're back to the Themes...hooorray!

For those that have been sitting out the Cream of rounds, I hope we can them returning once again.

So.....it's my turn then. Right...I must confess...when I came up with the idea...my initial thoughts were just songs with illegible lyrics within; i.e. the words are all completely made up and would make no sense in any language. However...I quickly realised that there are so few of those, so this is the theme as it stands now:-

"What the earth are they on about?!" - Songs with nonsensical lyrics...or in other words....total gibberish! - Either songs containing lyrics with made up illegible words, or just lyrics that make no sense to anybody!

Pick any song you like that EITHER contain illegible lyrics featuring nonsense words..in part or in full, OR songs that have legible lyrics...but are structured in such a fashion that few, if anybody, can fathom out what the hell the song is about! Geddit?!

Noms in by Wednesday 10pm...you know the drill.

And since I only have the one nom...this is truly a nonsense song comprising entirely of illegible words. Written and composed by one of Italy's most regarded musicians, he is virtually unknown here. This song was styled in the fashion of a US rap song, with words that sounded like English...but are completely gibberish. Released in 1972, this song kinda predates popular rap and was a big success for Adriano Celentano. I've opted for the 2012 reworked version, as I prefer this to the original.

Struggling with this. The only thing that springs to mind is McArthur Park, but unfortunately this isn't a "songs you detest / loath with a deep and abiding passion since the first time you heard it / wish you could collect every copy of it and it's sheet music ever made or printed and burn them all in an inferno of flames" round, I can't nominate it.
