It ABSOLUTELY used to be so much better. :( There used to be a slow gathering for book groups and a TON of roleplaying groups, with lots of great writers dabbling in all kinds of groups. One of my groups called "Character Roleplays" was a very large group going at the time, and also, Goodreads made it easier to add friends, so it was easier to invite and socialize. I think maybe there was a lot of word about Goodreads around that time?
