Week 30: What are you reading?

Jesus Land is pretty much what I expected, but that almost makes it harder to read. It's infuriating to read about the things these kids went through and that their parents just allowed (and even encouraged) it. Apparently the school they were sent to only just closed in 2011. A Showtime documentary called Kidnapped for Christ is currently running and documents the experiences of students who were at the school in more recent years: http://www.kidnappedforchrist.com/
I plan to check out Kidnapped for Christ on Showtime. I would definitely like to learn more about Escuela Caribe and the students who were forced to attend. I am surprised to learn that the school was open until 2011.

I just finished the fifth book in the Booktown Mystery series. In Sentenced to Death, one of Tricia's friends is killed in an apparent accident during the Founder's Day celebration. Tricia doesn't think her friend's death was accident and she does some investigating to find out what really happened. During the investigation, Tricia finds out some unsavory details about her friend and other citizens of the town.
I just picked up The Yard by Alex Grecian and I plan to start it today.

I picked up Sylo and Storm and really have enjoyed them as well as a few other quick reads (Dexter and a few James Patterson books) I am taking the kiddo's to the Library on Thursday to get weekend trip reads as well as stock up myself for the next few weeks. Will let you know if I hit anything spectacular!!! Have a great week y'all

I also read Phoenix Rising , an enjoyable steampunk by Pip Ballantine and Tee Morris.

I started listening to audiobooks on my drive to and from work, the first one is Rick Riordan's The Lightning Thief. The reader does a good job.

I just finished My Life as a White Trash Zombie, which was a hilarious new take on the zombie genre. Zombies are real people, too! I didn't feel like spending more money on Audible so I ordered the whole series from Amazon. I'm excited to read the next three books!
I started Jesus Land and Legend last week and hope to finish them this week.

Legend will hopefully be a quick and fun read. I've always heard good things, so here's hoping!
