Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Hey! I'll take a look at your TBR and get back to you soon!!

MountainKat | 31601 comments Hi Stacie! My to-read-asap shelf and my current M&G shelf are the ones at the top of my list. Though I need to update my to-read-asap shelf before the PIFM!

Let me know if you see something. Or where to look for your upcoming books. I'm running a little slow today, but I am around - the cold I thought was gone came back with a vengeance! I think I'm actually sicker now than I was before... How does that happen?!

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) I hate that feeling!! I have a shelf marked need for challenges that would be where I'm pulling my next up books from.

Need For Challenges

It needs more books added to it but that's enough for now I think.

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Looking at your two lists and books I can easily get a hold of or wouldn't need to speed read a bunch to catch up, here's what I think could work

Sex, Not Love
Borrowing Blue
Bound to Submit

MountainKat | 31601 comments Thanks for the friend invite - I thought we were friends already too!

I will go check out your list soon, need to deal with the PIFM this morning too. As for the books you listed - I read Sex, Not Love last month for the buddy read and loved it! I highly recommend it. But I would gladly read either of the others!

I will let you know what I find on your shelf later!

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Take your time!

MountainKat | 31601 comments Wow, that was harder than I expected! A lot of the romance on your shelf, I've already read. I did find a few though.

Elements of Retrofit by N.R. Walker
Finders Keepers by N.R. Walker
Retrieval by Aly Martinez
Legal Affairs by Sawyer Bennett
Sweet Sinful Nights by Lauren Blakely

Some have the benefit of being in audio, some are shorter.

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) What are your top two picks?

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Mine are probably Bound to Submit and Retrieval

message 11: by MountainKat, Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

MountainKat | 31601 comments I would probably say Bound to Submit and Elements of Retrofit - because they are short! =P

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Then let's do Bound To submit!

message 13: by MountainKat, Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

MountainKat | 31601 comments It's a plan! When do you want to read it? I can do whatever works for you.

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) How about late next week? Anywhere from the 7th to the 9th? I've got a couple I need to have done before then.

message 15: by MountainKat, Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

MountainKat | 31601 comments I could do the 7th, but am away from home on the 8th and 9th and can't read much then. But if I read on the 7th, you could read later in the week too. =)

I'm going to let Karen know our choice.

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) I'm also open to after that! But whatever date works best. I'm pretty flexible except for the 22nd to the 25th. I'll be at a book convention.

message 17: by MountainKat, Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

MountainKat | 31601 comments Book convention?! Sounds like fun!

I'm good with the 7th or around that time. =)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Bunch of romance authors! cannot wait!

message 19: by MountainKat, Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

MountainKat | 31601 comments I fantasize about going to one someday! You are going to have to share your experience afterwards!

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) I will!

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Started this on my commute this morning after finishing another book. Definitely wish I had more time to read it as I just got to (view spoiler) but I'll be able to get back to it at lunch time. Definitely interested to see where this goes.

The author is one that I will meet at the end of the month!

MountainKat | 31601 comments Lucky - I love Laura Kaye!! She is one of the writers that always works for me. =)

I barely got started with this today. I wasn't thinking things through when I thought today was a home day and I could read. I forgot that I had to drive down to pick up our grandson for his birthday trip to Disneyland tomorrow. I knew we were gone tomorrow, but forgot that I was gone most of today too. Still I should finish by Friday. =)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Take your time! I finished it yesterday. I will admit to tearing up a bit during some parts. When you're done we will talk more. I gave it 4 stars!

message 24: by MountainKat, Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

MountainKat | 31601 comments Wow, her books always pack an emotional punch but they don't usually make me tear up! I am making slow progress, but am liking what I've read so far! The good news is that it tends to be easier to read on the weekend, especially as opposed to listening.

message 25: by MountainKat, Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

MountainKat | 31601 comments I finally finished. I really enjoyed it! I would probably give it 4 or 4+ Stars, the only downside was that with a bit longer length there could have been a little more depth with the situations. It worked as is, and probably better, since the subjects were not easy!

Haven't had a chance to do a review or anything yet, but hopefully in the morning.

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) I definitely think you are right one the longer length. I know I wanted more. I want to check out the rest of the series but I have a feeling they aren't on KU and I'm really cheap when it comes to books that are shorter in length since I usually read pretty quickly.

message 27: by MountainKat, Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

MountainKat | 31601 comments I usually read faster than this - got caught up with basketball over the weekend. And it was rainy so my hubby was inside with me instead of doing his thing outside like he normally does. Oh well, that's life!

I would have liked more, things moved rather quickly. Especially where they each forgave themselves and moved on from the guilt. I do like that they had history though, I think it makes shorter stories work - they didn't have to get to know each other. Overall, I thought it was quite good and I do plan to continue reading the series. =) I should go add it to my M&G shelf...

If they are lendable, I should be able to help you out if you are interested.

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Thanks for the offer!! I'll take a look and let you know. I'm really glad you had to read this book for another challenge because I don't think I ever would have a) seen it or b) picked it up!

message 29: by MountainKat, Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

MountainKat | 31601 comments Love that about challenges! Pushes to me read new things, not to mention seeing what everyone else is reading!
