What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I heard about this book last year, but I think it was written sometime in the late 20th century, maybe 70s to 90s. It's a short story collection with a female author, but it's framed as though it is written by two fictional twins - one is a man, the other is a woman, and both are queer. I think the short stories were supposed to be sort of dark and Gothic (maybe fantasy? I'm not sure).

I can't remember it in detail, but I believe one of the stories in the collection was about a girl who falls in love with an actress...?

EDIT: More than a year later, I've rediscovered the book I was looking for - "Disturbed by Her Song" by Tanith Lee!
