My book club chose this as one of its selections later this year. I'm really looking forward to reading it. There needs to be more stories about the part women played in the wars.

I may stream Red Sparrow. I don't have to see it at the theater. I do want to see Ready Player One at the theater, hopefully next week.

I haven’t seen Red Sparrow but it looks good. Can’t wait to hear what you think of Ready Player One! :)

Thanks for the update, Dustin! :D

Hope you like it-Look forward to hearing what you think of it. :)
I would love to learn more about the Alice Network and the woman who was the head of it.

Hope the movie does the book justice. Can’t wait to hear what you think. :)
I saw Ready Player One today. They made some significant changes from the book. I always find it interesting why screenwriters choose to deviate so far from the original. I liked it, but I probably won't watch it again. The book was better - that of course isn't a surprise though is it? :-) I like both of the main leads from their other work.

I watched Ready Player One in regular digital film, but I think this one might be worth watching in 3D :-)

No it’s not a surprise. :/
I can understand a few changes need to be made but this was a lot of changes. I don't remember Stephen King's The Shining being one of the big challenges to earn a key. (view spoiler)
Last night some damn critter done gone torn up my scooter seat while I was sleeping. I think it was a squirrel because they always seem to be laughing at me. And of course you know about how I hit a mountain lion with my old scooter at the end of last Summer. My scooters seem to attract wildlife. I prefer when they attract hummingbirds.

I don’t remember The Shining being mentioned at all.
Sorry about the scooter-can you cover it with a tarp or something to protect it from the elements and the wildlife?
Hummingbirds are awesome. :)
I have a cover but I rarely cover it unless it's raining or snowing overnight. Twice, I've had it covered and the wind picked up unexpectedly and knocked it over, which does more damage.
I'm going to get a custom seat cover from Cheeky Seats at some point :-)

Yeah so it's scenes like The Shining playing such a big role in the film that really had me wondering :-) They didn't exactly go by the book.

Loved. This. Book.
I’m using it for the random task because I already read a book for the a-l-s task.
I love when magical realism is done well. It’s one of those stories that’s sad and beautiful at the same time.

Have you read any of Isabel Allende's books?
What exactly is magical realism? I wonder if I have read something that is considered magical realism.

I did see Coco, that was a sweet film. I guess I probably like magical realism too and I didn't even know it was a thing :-)

Have you read any of Isabel Allende's books?"
I haven’t yet- I should fix that. :)
Which is your favorite of hers?
I read

I think you might like it Dustin. :)

It’s dark though, disturbing at times but it’s an incredible book. It’s set on death row.

Doctor Sleep is good choice for #6. I may use that one.

Your description and the one on GR had me with "imaginative force of Stephen King. It goes on my TBR list, lol.
Would I have to read The Shining to appreciate Doctor Sleep? Because I ain't never read The Shining.

I'm planning to read Sleeping Beauties by Stephen and Owen King as part of the Spring Challenge. It's a much lengthier book than I typically read but I think I'm gonna do it.

Thanks for the update, Dustin! :)
Look forward to hearing what you think of it if you decide to pick it up.

Critters sure like your scooter Dustin lol
I might be getting a new job - will keep you posted. I've been offered a position will a small business and have to decide today or tomorrow. The pay is less, but so is the stress. Full benefits are offered: medical/dental, overtime, paid vacation, paid holidays, 401K. Anyway, had a lot on my mind lately.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do. Sometimes money isn’t worth the stress-as long as you can manage with the reduction in salary. Hope you feel free to vent here about anything on your mind- what are friends for? :)
Sending good vibes your way. :)
Thanks Rachel. I gave notice today and will start my new job April 23rd.
Here is where I'll be working in a fabric warehouse with lots of colors and patterns!

Congrats on the new job! :)
What department will you be working in?
I'll be in the Warehouse filling orders. Apparently my main tasks include pulling correct fabric ordered and cutting it to the desired length :-) It's gonna be a lot less stressful. The place is very organized and calm. I'm really rather excited. I'm going in tomorrow to pick up my new hire packet.
I plan to get a part-time job at the movie theater on the weekends to make up the difference. I'm at the movie theater every weekend anyway so I might as well get paid to be there and watch free movies. There is a new general manager who is much more nicer from when I previously worked there 2011-2012. I talked to him on Saturday and he said he'd watch for my application. I applied Saturday night.

Calm is good. :)

Free movies is a cool deal especially for a movie buff. Don’t forget to let us know what’s good! (Basically in addition to moderator you’re our house movie critic :)
Movie theater just called me. They have to do a background check and as long as I ain't a felon I'll start back there next week :-) Yeah, I'm pretty excited right now how everything has worked out. I feel really good.

Congrats, Danell! :)
