What did you think of it? Favorite or least favorite characters? Favorite or least favorite part? Will you read the next one?

Heather (Curious Fox Reads) (curiousfoxreads) I really enjoyed it. I liked the concept and the world in the story. Even my SO, who doesn't read too much, was intrigued enough by the world, that he picked up a copy for himself. I have also finished Thunderhead already, as well as attended an author event for Thunderhead and I have to say... I cannot wait to find out what happens next.

Monica | 4 comments I thought this was fantastic! Couldn’t put it down. I posted a full review on Goodreads but would say here that I loved how the author addresses serious issues while still injecting humor into the book and actually writing in a voice that seems teen appropriate. Just downloaded the sequel...

Lianne My copy will arrive in a few days, hopefully, and I can't wait to get started!

Mark | 2 comments Read Scythe last school year, enjoyed it a lot. The world he created has a number of interesting moral questions to ponder, the way he developed the main conflict was very enjoyable.

I recommended it to a number of HS students, some of whom loved it. Did recommend it to a student recently and got it back with no commentary [and they didn't check out Thunderhead right away] so maybe a miss for a few - but overall it seemed like a fast read and a novel concept in dystopian/future.

We got Thunderhead in recently, I was impressed at how he was able to step the story further with a great exciting last 1/3 of the book and adding some depth to the morality play introduced in the first one.

Denise (witchycraftygal) SCYTHE was my first 5 star read of this year; absolutely loved it! My boyfriend, who isn't a huge reader, picked this one up on my recommendation, and is loving it so far as well.

THUNDERHEAD should be delivered by tomorrow, and I can't wait to dive into more of this thrilling and unique world!

Monica | 4 comments Finished Thunderhead now and boy, what a spectacular follow up!

amelia I loved Scythe so much, and i love how the world was so well developed and the plot and the writing were amazing! it was very cleverly thought out as well.

Only thing was i would have liked to have gotten some more information and answers on Goddard and on Xenocrates, but Im guessing that a lot will be answered in thunderhead, so i have really high hopes!

Also i need more of Scythe Faraday and Scythe Curie in Thunderhead and am SO excited to follow up Citras story.

David Patneaude | 16 comments Interesting to read all the positive comments. Although I thought the book was well written, I didn't love it. For a couple of reasons, the premise didn't seem all that believable. But then, maybe it's professional jealousy (I also write YA), or maybe it's that I'm well beyond the young adult stage of my life and have become jaded or cynical or hyper-critical or something. I guess that's why we don't see a lot of five-star books, though. We all have different expectations and tastes, and that, in the end, is what makes the book world (and the larger one) go around.

katarina_g | -6 comments I'm not a dystopia fan, I actually try to avoid it but this book got me from the first page! I was really hoping I'm going to like it, because the concept just sounded so cool and I'm glad I wasn't let down. Neal's writing style was magnificent, I just loved the way he questioned the righteousness of killing people, and the characters were amazing as well!
Can't wait for the second book!

I absolutely loved this book. I read it twice, and I think it was somehow better the second time. I ended up buying a copy of Thunderhead, and I have no regrets. It took me a bit to read it because I was busy with school, but I’m so ready for the third one. Will it come out already? :)

Farren (mmmcookies) | 302 comments Unpopular opinion time 😁

I read this book a year ago in a large group buddy read. I thought it was dull and hard to get through (took me a whole month), there were A LOT of plot holes, and the relationship between the two main characters was super forced with no chemistry and hardly any actual interaction between them. There were about a dozen of us and only one person loved it, a couple that thought it was okay, a lot of DNF's, and a few of us that rated it under 3 stars. The average rating has skyrocketed the last few months, since YouTube was flooded with reviews by people who were sent a free copy.

The end was good, but the reading experience wasn't very enjoyable so I think I am going to pass on continuing the series.

Teri | 12 comments Loved this book - read an ARC over a year ago. Such an original concept and unexpected plot twists - and it takes a lot to surprise me! Have the second in the series, but haven't started it yet.

Kim Kaso | 94 comments I have Thunderhead newly arrived, so many other books to read, but that one is so enticing.

Brianna (littleladylioness) I listened to the audiobook of Scythe read by Greg Tremblay, and not only was I in LOVE with the story, but the narration was top notch. So if anyone is considering listening to the audiobook, I highly recommend it. As for the story. Oh. My. Goodness. There were so many unexpected twists and turns. (view spoiler) I think that Faraday and Curie are probably my favourite characters. The character development in this novel is also incredible.

I will absolutely be reading Thunderhead! Im so curious to see how the story pans out and the Thunderheads addition to the plot :)

Reagan Conger This book was fantastic! The idea behind the story was so interesting and intriguing. I couldn’t put this book down! The storyline isn’t hard to understand and has nice plot twists. I love this story and the sequel to this book was just as good. Waiting anxiously for the next installment!

T ✩ Handmaiden Of Amidala (tarria) So far it's interesting but the two lead characters are a bit bland, especially Citra. Scythe Faraday is amazing though.

»-daly (leaving)→ This series was sooooo good! I really couldn’t put it down! I love Rowan’s (spoiler alert!!!) change to Scythe Lucifer where he looked to kill unworthy scythes in the second one! 10 out of 10!

Viki (semi-hiatus, cause I broke my phone) | 50 comments OMG I flove that book!!!! The first book was a 5/5 for me and the second 4/5.I haven't read the third book but I'm excited about it! I love that word and characters so much.
