Jeannie | 3 comments religious fiction God tells an angel to write this down in the book and then He (God) starts creating the universe. I believe I heard that there was actually a series of 5 books but I've never seen but the one. Can anyone help me, please?

When did you read it (them) or when were they published?
Author female or male?
Children's, YA, or adult?
Remember the cover?

Jeannie | 3 comments I read it at least 10-15 years ago - It was old, I bought it from a used book store and the best I can remember it was probably published like 60-70 years ago. The author was male, and I think some kind of pastor, clergy, or maybe headmaster or president of some religious school. It wasn't children's - maybe YA, buy probably adult. I don't remember the cover. It wasn't reference or instructional really just a story. God is talking about creating a world, inhabitants to interact with and He tells the angel to get his book and write in it all that he hears and sees. Then God starts creating everything. I think somewhere in it they talk about what will happen later and the angel asks God why and He says because He will send His Son to be the sacrifice to save them and the angel starts crying.

Jeannie | 3 comments I found the book I was trying to identify. It's by Gene Edwards and the title of the one I read was "The Beginning". It is book one in a five part series published under both "The Chronicles of the Door" and "The Chronicles of Heaven". The other 4 books in the series are "The Escape" (about Moses leading the people from Egypt) "The Birth" (about the birth of Jesus) "The Triumph" (about the Crucifixion & Resurrection) and "The Return" (about Jesus' return to take His people to Heaven) Thanks to everyone who tried to help me with this, I just wanted to let everyone know my problem was solved, and say you should check out these and other books by this author.
