R.K. Singh | 2 comments Lord of the Rings meets ancient India. THE JEWEL OF VISHNU is my YA fantasy novel I'm finishing off right now. Enjoying the process immensely, if I may say so. Set in the Indian equivalent of Atlantis (I didn't make that part up. It's part of Indian folklore), it features a teen boy on a quest to save his world (why else would one quest?)

BLURB

A civilisation at the edge of the world.
A people said to have descended from the stars.
Only whispers remain of India’s lost continent
Until now.

Arul is an ordinary boy, except for three things.
His mother vanished soon after his birth.
He wears an amulet filled with ancient power.
He has a mountain wolf for a pet.

As winter approaches, there are strange happenings deep in the mountains. Livestock are being torn apart and villagers flee their harvest in terror.

Arul and his wolf, Jaya secretly journey on an epic quest to save his starving people. He crosses breathtaking landscapes and unforgiving jungles searching for answers. Searching for his mother.

Terrifying forces born amongst the stars, now seek to fulfil an ancient and dark vow. He is drawn into a race against time to escape an apocalypse that will end all life.

Arul carries the one object that could save his world.
A stone of great power gifted by a God.
