1 Million Without Power as Storm Cleanup Proceeds

At some point in time people are going to realize that the weather is going to be controlling what we do on a regular basis, not just during the occasional storm. During storms our building current practices will become as unreliable as tin huts in underdeveloped countries. It is probably only a matter of time before insurance companies stop insuring locations that get continually hit by storms, starting with coastal developments. You can still live there, but you will have to foot the replacement bill. The coastal areas already have higher than normal property tax rates and now the added cost of maintaining any type of coastal structures will further restrict coastal areas to only the wealthiest people. Or you could opt for living in disposable buildings thereby reducing the replacement costs.

4th and possibly 5th Nor'easter on the way. The snow pack is building up which could cause flooding when it all starts to melt. Besides bigger storms the trend has also been for much colder spring weather resulting in a slower melting of the accumulating snow, which alleviates the problem of flooding.
