I totally agree. I only just finished reading it a week ago and was pleasantly surprised by it. I heard the movie is going to be quite different but I am sure it will still be great :)

I found out about this book last year in two days after my birthday and I was suprised when I saw that it was going to become a movie soon. I started to read “Ready Player One” after the day my councelor gave it to me at school. I’m so glad that I chose to read this book because it reminded me of myself when I was always by myself and didn’t talk to people who were around me. This also reminded me how fun life can be if you put your mind to it.
In the book, “Ready Player One”, a high school kid name Wade Watts is living in a trailer with his Auntie in the year of 2044 because his parents died when he was born. Wade has mostly been a antisocial person because nobody connects with him in reality and he really like being alone. He goes to school online with all of the other kids and he also has a secret hideout where only he knows about.
There’s a videogame called the OASIS and it allows you to go inside and play with real life players in the world. Wade shows his true self when in the OASIS because he can be what ever he wants to be. Each person has their own avatar that they can create and name them what ever they want. Wade avatar’s name was Parzival and he was one of the best players in the OASIS. He met a lot of people in the OASIS by playing certain missions on his own. He also made friends with Samantha (aka Art3mis), Akihide (aka Shoto), Toshiro (aka Daito), and Helen (aka Aech). All five of these characters had the same goal and that was to win the grand prize in OASIS. The grand prize was who ever collects the golden egg first will win over one billion dollars. What they did not know was that if they win, their avatar will become immortal and be able to anything in the OASIS. Wade truly cared about his friends a lot wanted to stay with them in the real world forever because he never really had true friendship before.
While I was reading this book, I saw myself a lot because in the past I use to be antisocial just like Wade. I manage to learn how to speak and cooperate with other people later in my life because I learned that being alone is not fun when you got a whole life ahead of you. In this book, Wade thought that he would find love by meeting someone online and that it would make his life happier and have a bigger purpose. I like that the author brought this to my attention because a lot of people love to meet people online and then believe that they found love, but I think that it’s best to meet someone in person then online because you don’t know how they look like and you don’t know them. When Wade finally met Samantha in person, it was a great experience for him because he has never felt something special inside when he very close someone like Samantha. When Wade won the grand prize he had promised that he would split the prize money between him and his friends because he admit that he couldn’t have won it without their help.
I enjoyed this book a lot and I would recommend this book to anyone who loves video games, competetion, and doing everything onine. This book also made me realize that you always have to stay indoors just to find something or someone you care about a lot.
