Yes! Well, they all sound the same to my ears anyway ;-)"

The early stuff has that tendency (Ball Park Incident is a bit more ballsy). The later stuff is more varied but went nowhere really sales-wise, I think.

theDuke | 6492 comments The Cure track I believe was a early nom from Foe, but he changed it to Pearls Before Swine (I think) & did delete his original post. Somehow his original nom got back on the list. Goldfrapp shouldn't be in the playlist...as Jim changed his nom, but didn't delete his original nom post! Apology accepted Jim! :-)

Removed The Cure from the list:

The oldies have it this week, with a winning track each from the '60's, 70's & 80's.

Taking the top spot this week, the ever green classic storming ahead on 27 points, is Waltzinblack by The Stranglers. A track I foolishly discarded from my very small list of noms....so this week's winner is Johnny! Well done that man!

And in 2nd place, a track that the nominee feared that it would a nul pointer, actually did very well! Gordon's choice Boogie-Woogie Waltz by Weather Report, scored a respectable 21 points.

And finally, just lagging behind by one point, but the only other nom to reach a score...& a nice choice from the theme nominator himself, Derek gets the 3rd podium spot with, The Surrealist Waltz by Pearls Before Swine.

Well done to all three winners.

Some very interesting choices in that playlist I thought.

Craig White | 6727 comments jolly good show, the winners, even gordon with his ****in' w**th*r r*p*rt! :) (i nearly got my head kicked in over w.r., and due to my principles (and not liking them in the slightest (which is why i nearly got a kicking in the first place - it's a long story and there were 3 rabid jazz-funkers ready to jump the counter at 'bruce's record shop to teach me a lesson!) i won't give them any of my time. but hey, j.b. with the stranglers, an exceptional piece from a hellishly misguided and poor album, were already a spent concern by this time! and derek - i don't know enough about your nomination to put it down! :)

Derek W | 1365 comments Sorry I didn't vote on my own theme. I meant to do it last night but the arrival on our doorstep of a very worried friend of our next door neighbour turned into a highly traumatic and stressful evening. I won't go into the details.

Thanks to all those who voted for my nomination, third place was better than I expected:-)

Thanks Val. Our neighbour's step son and family arrived today to deal with the legal aspects and we'll provide whatever help we can.
