Alec! I love Jem so much but...it's Alec.

Both! I mean Alec has had a life in the shadow of the person he loved the most and Jem had to watch the two people he loved have a life together and couldn’t be in it, i think both of them deserve the love ❤️

Jem has always been my favourite character out of all the characters throughout the different Shadowhunter series.

This is a hard question as both men are so different. Alec is my favourite character in the TSC universe and Jem is the best character of the TSC universe

I personally like Jem better. Obviously I like Alec as well but I noticed that I tend to like his character more when he’s with Magnus. Which I’m thinking is because he’s more himself when with Magnus. But I just feel like Jem is a character with more depth and I can’t help but relate to him more and feel more connected. He’ll always be a special character whether he’s Jem or a silent brother he always seems to find a way to give across his sympathy and vulnerability. As for Alec he’s funny,sarcastic, protective and actually really caring. He’s generally just such a Lightwood which I don’t think I know a Lightwood I don’t like so I appreciate his bravery and reading about him helps me be more brave in myself. I think both characters are really special and I’m glad to have met them.

Jem deserves the world and is such an interesting character and is so well written.
Alec is fine,only really interesting whens he's with magnus

Jem for sure! I think he was a better person over all than Alec.

Alec tried to make Magnus mortal without telling him because he was insecure about their relationship whereas Jem would never have done anything intentially to hurt Will or Tessa. When he found out that Will liked Tessa, he was even willing to step aside so that they could be together which shows extreme self sacrifice on his part and the fact that he valued the two of them so much over his own personal feelings, something that Alec didn't do. There is also more literature on Alec and Magnus being together, but I don't find the short stories to be that well written whereas the one short story that we get of Jem and Tessa reuniting on London Bridge is well-written.

In my opinion, there is a lot more depth and emotion to Jem. He is presented as a much more complicated character than Alec who seems a little bit more shallow. That might also be because he is set in the modern times whereas anything in the past seems to be a lot more complicated.

Ok. So.... I can't decide. Only because they're both so sweet. Alec might have started off in sort of a blunt way in TMI, but I think that's just the exterior rbf. Jem is also really cute in TID (based on C. Angel alone as its the only one I've read thus far) and so respectful no matter what. They're so sweet and I would take both of them.
