Okay guys, well I guess I'll start.... Strong opening. I can picture the setting in my head. The physical descriptions are good. And the reactions seem realistic. Good pacing and the story is progressing nicely.

Chapter 1-10


(view spoiler)[ I am very intrigued by the headaches, I think the character is going to reveal a secret power. The race of people in general is the most interesting part of this. I want to see this underwater world and I'm hoping book 2 will take us there.

I'm indifferent right now, as far as Lyric's character is concerned. She's kind of got a rough side to her, which I admire. I do not trust Mr. Doyle, I think he has some type of ulterior motive. I like her father. I am definitely invested in this world now. Excited to see where this goes. (hide spoiler)]

1-5 (view spoiler)[ wow okay this is pretty weird. So her mom is basically a mermaid? I really didn't even read much of the blurb so I kind of went in blind on this one. Seems pretty realistic, the way things have been handled. Although I'm not sure if our government would let them attend school, but it is possible. (hide spoiler)]

Up to 17 (view spoiler)[ wow. You know I can really see things happening like this because the US is so intense with military and police force. Most dystopian books don't really have that part of the story realistic feeling. (hide spoiler)]

End of 21 (view spoiler)[holy shit i didn't see that coming. This whole thing feels so real. I love when an author can capture the reality of how society would react in a fantasy or a fictional situation. And that she wasn't afraid to kill off a main character. (hide spoiler)]

I didn't know there was a book 2 but I would love to (view spoiler)[ see the underwater world as well. I think she might be going through a transformation of some kind. She needs to be in water and it hasn't said what she does in the bath. It said her mom grew a tail, does she have gills or something? I agree that the headaches mean something. But what? End of 26(view spoiler)[ wow i knew the headaches meant she had some sort of power. This book moves so fast, I never could have predicted this type of showdown. So what happens now? Obviously Arcade will no longer be Fathom's mate. (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[wow, I really enjoyed this. So much more than I was expecting but the ending was explosive. Ugh the humans are so dumb and probably will on,h become more volatile now. Really hope her mom and dad are ok. Not sure if I care much about the prince. The love triangle is kinda annoying cuz I can’t tell where his feelings lie. I mean he did just kiss arcade and hold hands with her while pretty much ignoring lyric. Time will tell but I’m def diving into the next book. (hide spoiler)]
