Hello Green Team! I hope you guys are as excited about this challenge as I am. They're predicting a snow storm this weekend in Southern Ohio and next week is spring break. I guess we've become the Green Guppies (or Groupers if you prefer)! When does strategizing begin? I know which categories I can help in and the ones that I can't. I'm going to try for 7 books this week. I don't know if that is possible, but it can't hurt to give it a whirl. Many of the books I have checked out could cover multiple categories so I guess we can just put them in spots that other folks haven't filled. I will definitely commit to 600 pages and 5 hours of audiobooks.

We can start strategizing at any point, we just have to wait until when we wake up on Saturday to count the reading.

I'm currently reading The Whispering Room by Dean Koontz. I'm hoping to finish it this weekend and I can count it towards the task for books started before the read-a-thon.

I'm just reading through everything and wow.. this is a complicated one! I'm up for it though!

Question. Does it really matter which category we assign a book to, since we can read multiple books for each category? I mean, aside from the lightening bolt prompts and the ones that designate a limit, we can read multiple books for the same one?

So the only thing we really need to strategize is the lightening bolt prompts (with maybe a comment tracking who has completed what prompts for those) and the prompts where theres a limit per member?

Also, I've finished the Kick-off, the Getting to Know You, and the Bookish A-Z!

Ok so I finished Stay with Me this morning, but I had 56% read yesterday, so I'm not sure if it counts? I looked through all of the posts and didn't see the rules for what percentage read was required.

Please be sure to update the group with the number of pages you have read or the number of audiobook hours you have listened to so I can add it to the cumulative total.

Does a book need a minimum page count? I started a little book with only 50 pages.

I would guess that would count for one of the 3 short stories/novellas.

(Is there a limit to poems? I feel like that would be a really easy way to rack up a ton of guesses quickly!)

I haven't heard of a limit for poems, at least from the last time we did Battleship. I suppose if we get out of hand then the mods will discuss :)

Tammy, if I'm reading your post right, you listened to 5 hours of audio which was the equivalent of 120 pages? If so, I counted it for the audio task. If you continue listening then we can count it for pages since you're now at your personal max for audio.

I finished Cannery Row not sure where you want to place this. I was at 28% prior to the start of the read a thon and I also read for 2 hours straight on this one. This book was first published in 1945 so anywhere you want to place it that will work best for the team I'm okay with.
