Starting off a little early on this one.

Part 1: (view spoiler)[ This is a really good setup for the rest of the novel! There was a lot of info to remember, nut I think I'm going to really enjoy this one! I'm a bit confused about the Ana/Eva thing, but I have no doubt this will become clear shortly. (hide spoiler)]

Part 2: (view spoiler)[ Zeke is so sweet! I struggled through those numerous flashbacks, which I felt were a bit tedious, but other than those I'm really loving it! All of the characters are so great! (hide spoiler)]

Part 3: (view spoiler)[ I should have known Zeke was too perfect to be true! I still have faith that he can hopefully redeem himself and explain why he shot Ana, but he definitely needed to be honest with her. Really loving this book! (hide spoiler)]

I started this a little early too! I'm listening to this on audio and it doesn't say the chapter numbers so I'm kind of guessing at my place

This was good though, I wonder if she regrets calling them all not-boy and not-girl the whole time when that was her! Im starting this one today!

Part 1: (view spoiler)[ So a lot of info in that but it's a whole new world being set up and Jay did it in his fabulous Jay way. Was I the only one worried about that little dog when he went flying???? You never hurt the puppy! Also the Eve/Ava thing was set up well. I have some theories but knowing Jay they won't be right. Part 1 (view spoiler)[ I am loving this so far! I Am guessing evie is really this Ana person and her grandfather is not really her grandfather just someone there to protect her. Part 2 (view spoiler)[ It took me so long to get through this because absolutly nothing was really happening I meand there were some great scenery but we still don't know where Silas is and I swear every chapter was a flashback. Part 3 (view spoiler)[ How jacked up is that. I don't really know how to feel about Hope helping them, on one hand I get that they didn't want to be slaves anymore but then why didn't you just leave? Why did you have to kill them all. (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Part 4 (view spoiler)[ UMMMMMMMM... WTF! What do you mean she is a freaking lifelike too!!! That is crazy! As messed up as it is I was actually more sympathetic with Cricket and Lemon.... Also they never really told us why Lemon was important... did no one else realize there was a big gaping hole in that aspect of the story?(view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

I was away at Comic Con so I wasn't able to post my updates, but I kept notes as I read!

Part 2: (view spoiler)[ Not my favorite section because not a lot happened, but I am still trying to piece together everything and figure out the mystery that is Ava/Eve. I really like Zeke and adore Kaiser and Cricket - apparently I just like the machine characters lol (hide spoiler)]

Part 3: (view spoiler)[And the truth comes out! Man, these flashbacks are brutal. Poor Eve having to face Hope again but I can honestly see that Hope is trying to change and repent for what she did - but killing innocent children is something that is hard to come back for. Also, this Preacher character...man talk about focused! (hide spoiler)]

Part 4: (view spoiler)[ ummmm....what? It's funny cause when I first started reading it I was like Eve is a machine. That's the big secret! And then more of the past was revealed and I was like oh ok, so her memory was erased that's why everything seems shady, but leave it to Kristoff to just pull the rug out from under! Loved the last two parts of this book (hide spoiler)]

Part 1: (view spoiler)[ Wow, lots going on with Evie/Ana. She evidently has a past that she doesn't remember, now has superpowers too, and has a bunch of people after her. Zeke seems to want to help, but this Faith girl knew him well, and is Preacher another lifelike? What is his deal? How many people are pissed at Evie right now? (hide spoiler)]
Part 2: (view spoiler)[ That part inside the kraken was interesting. I wonder what they meant about Lemon being "important". Is she like a long lost princess or something? I hope they fix Kaiser soon! (hide spoiler)]
Part 3: (view spoiler)[ Seems a little harsh to chase Lemon and Zeke away - I mean she was keeping things to herself too! It's not like she told Lemon about her past until she beat up Hope. And Zeke, if she had given him a chance to explain, it makes perfect sense what he did. I think she is going to need their help to stay alive. (hide spoiler)]
Part 4 - WOW! This book was pretty damn awesome! But...(view spoiler)[ WTF is she doing siding with Gabriel now? Just because she's having an identity crisis is no excuse to go all evil. IT IS A CHOICE! She's choosing wrong! (hide spoiler)] GAHH, and now how long do we have to wait for the next one, a year!?!?!?!

Part 1 (view spoiler)[ I wonder who/what Ana was?? What happened to Eve? Why does she have memories of this murder? How is she alive when she should be dead?? I'm also curious about the lifelikes backstories. It seems like she has history with Zeke for sure. I hope Gramps will be okay with Faith. I wonder what Zeke meant about Ana manifesting?? So Gramps isn't Gramps. Evie isn't Evie. But she was the one who was "murdered" in all these like flashbacks that are happening at the beginning of the chapters?! Soooo confused!

Part two (view spoiler)[holy shit balls batman. So much happened! Her memories were interesting but boring. I felt more into it once they stopped. But it was crazy to learn all that shit.

Part 2 (view spoiler)[ Well shit that was intense af!! Evie isn't Eve, but she's also not Ana. This is so totally an Anastasia retelling and I'm loving it. It reminds me a bit of Heart of Iron which is totally fine with me. I'm glad Zeke didn't turn on her. I hope they'll be able to do something. And what is this gift thing Eve has? I hope they'll find Silas, maybe he has answers. ALSO A LEMON POV THANK YOU JAY!!! I LOVE LEMON, cries (hide spoiler)]

True cert, I hope to god he is. I really love the theme of humanity in this. Also Kristoff has some fuckinng amazing quotes in this book. I wish Kaiser had survived blowing up the Preacher, doggo didn't deserve to go out like that. LEMON IS STILL MY QUEEN FYI (hide spoiler)]

Part 1
(view spoiler)[WOW, that was so good? It was super interesting and I am really digging the flash backs at the start of each chapter.

Eve is super interesting and I find myself really wanting to know more about her and her world. And the lifelike.
Eve is super funny, and bad ass. Like I feel like this could be considered one of my favorite books if it keeps this up.


This is my first Jay Kristoff book. I kept pushing Nevernight and Illuminae back and I am kind of regretting it. (hide spoiler)]

Part 2
(view spoiler)[I really enjoyed this part of the book. I loved getting some background on Eve. I also loved how she kept her name Eve. I like seeing how she is dealing with her life before and after the incident.

I also hope her and Ezekiel work out stuff or something because I ship them.

Also I think Lemon is like my most favorite character ever. I super appreciate her and Eve's friendship.

I feel like I should've seen this coming but I def did not. I cannot believe that Ana isn't Ana.

Oh god, what if she is going to be a bad guy?? The end was so ominous. Like the where she is like her name is Eve.
