What are you reading in April 2018?
Starting my Hugo reading with J.Y. Yang's novella The Black Tides of Heaven. (And when I finish it, I'll probably have to read the companion novella, The Red Threads of Fortune, just on general principles.)

Oh, very intriguing. I added it to my TBR!
I started our book of the month, Nice Dragons Finish Last in audio. I will be re-reading The Emperor's Soul in my beautiful, shiny, brand new paperback of Arcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere Collection.
I also plan to start Sir Thomas the Hesitant and the Table of Less Valued Knights in ebook tonight. I'm really looking forward to it :)

A Slip of the Keyboard: Collected Non-Fiction by Terry Pratchett was excellent even though I've never cared for his fiction. I gave it a 5 star review here:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Thanks Jim - I'm working my way through Discworld - maybe I leave this collection as the final piece. - a sort of extended About the Author :)
Or read it piecemeal as you go through the series, Liam. He has some interesting things to say about where some came from.

Well, my first thought is that you probably want to read the Pillars of Reality series first. Sorry!
A very interesting series that only slowly becomes clearly SF.
I finished The Black Tides of Heaven, read The Red Threads of Fortune (it's another novella; and relatively short) and started Sarah Gailey's River of Teeth, yet another Hugo-nominated novella.
I am currently reading Changeling's Fealty by Glynn Stewart. This has a lot in common with the current book of the month but substitute Calgary for Detroit and a changeling instead of a dragon. The main character Jason, is very similar to Damien in the Starship Mage series which is my favourite of the series that he writes but it is still an entertaining read.

Just finished The Paper Magician, almost done with Ghost Story, about to start The Infernal Battalion.

It's the first time that I will read something from this author.
* Dreamfever by Karen Marie Moning
I love this series, the last book has a cliffhanger ending ((view spoiler)) and I want to discover more about the future of MacKayla.

It's really good! I had someone visit today and couldn't read, wasn't pleased!
I am currently reading With Blood Upon the Sand It's taking me ages which is really unusual. Not sure why this isn't gripping me but I'm finding it very easy to put down and do something else.

Continuing on my (mostly Hugo-nominated) novella streak with All Systems Red (which I finished in one sitting) and Down Among the Sticks and Bones.
And finished Down Among the Sticks and Bones and now it's finally time to go back to N.K. Jemisin's Broken Earth trilogy with The Obelisk Gate.

After reading Janny's list of dragon novels, I am reading The Last Dragonlord. A real old fashioned fantasy book but so am I. A good read so far if a bit predictable
I'm reading Tim Power's Last Call. Fabulous. I see a possible influence on Neil Gaiman's American Gods. It has a similar feel. Powers' writing is so vivid.

Also finished Nice Dragons Finish Last in audio this weekend. I'm really eager to get to the sequel but for now, I'm listening to Age of Myth.
I finished Iron Gold last night. Strong beginning and ending, but the middle left me kind of bored. It didn't grab me like the other books in the series. Just started Grey Sister.
I felt the same about Iron Gold. It didn't live up to the other two which was a shame
Finished The Triumph of the Dwarves. I liked it, its good to catch up with great characters. This semed to take ages to get through, probably becaus its not as good as the original 3.Onto Mage's Blood
Just finished up The Hollow Tree a unique supernatural story, started Grey Sister ,We Are Legion (We Are Bob)(audio) and am rereading Preludes & Nocturnes
Finished The Obelisk Gate and immediately started The Stone Sky and wow, these are some remarkable, occasionally brutal, often beautiful books.
I finished book 3 or Shadow Campaigns and just started book 4. I also read Ready Player One and Dresden book 8

I'm really enjoying the Fifth Season books, although they're not happy reads. Haven't read the Dreamblood books yet, although I want to just because of the Ancient Egypt-inspired setting.
