Originally built as a hunting park by the wealthy businessman Anton Kröller, Hoge Veluwe NP is now the largest nature reserve in the Netherlands and notable for its diversity of scenery, from dense forests to high sand dunes. *****🍂 Read a book with a bicycle on the cover or a book whose author’s first and last initial can be found in ANTON KROLLER.- Edward Abbey- The Monkey Wrench Gang
For those wanting to take things at an even slower pace, spend some time on one of the numerous well-marked rambling footpaths. These easy-to-follow walks are clearly marked and take you through the park's most picturesque spots. One of the most beautiful is the walk through Hoenderloo Forest. Winter Seasonal Challenge, 2018
Date: 12/01/18 - 02/28/19
Below is a list of 20 items one might encounter during the winter months. The challenge is to complete as many of the items as you can by the end of the challenge. There are 5 ways to complete an item, and these can be mixed/matched...however, you must read a minimum of 20 books in order to complete the challenge. A book may only be used one time for one item.
Thanks to a suggestion by Phyllis, this round will include a spell out option.
Here are the ways to complete the items:
(1) Title:
The first letter of each title word found in the item; no word count limit, but all words count.
(2) Author:
The author's first and last initials found in the item
(3) Cover:
The item is found on the cover. Book cover must be posted.
(4) Text:
The item or phrase can be found in the text of the book. Must provide page/location number, and sentence containing the word or phase. Word/phrase must be exact - no substitutions.
(5) Spell Out:
Spell out the item by using the first letter of a book title or the first letter of the author's first or last name. Please Note: If choosing this option to complete your challenge, you must spell out enough words to cover the 20 book minimum. For example: You could not simply spell out SLED, as it only represents four letters. You would need to spell out additional words to reach the 20 book minimum.
