Pat Cray-Hollis | 179 comments I usually read my favorite authors as soon as the series comes out but sometimes I want to go back and re-read the series. I am with Fern Michaels Sisterhood series and James Patterson the Alex Cross series.

Does anyone else like me?

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) | 648 comments There are only three series I've ever reread any of and I don't see that changing -- Spenser (Robert Parker), Robicheaux (James Lee Burke) and Matthew Scudder (Lawrence Block). This is mostly because I first read them in the early 90s, they are my three favorites and every now and then I pick one up again going on 30 years later.... Parker is dead, but Spenser's being written by Ace Atkins and he really captures the flavor. Robicheaux is ongoing. Haven't seen a new Scudder in years -- i think the last one was 2012. That one might be done.

I do, there are a few series I like to go back and visit - sort of comfort reading!

Other than books chosen for my F2F book group -- and maybe a few books I remember loving when I was a kid -- I don't re-read books at all. There are wayyyy too many books in Mt. TBR that I want to read to spend time re-reading something I've already read :)

L J | 714 comments I re-read whole series from beginning and I have friends who do the same. I tend to do audio for re-read even though I have paper copies. Mostly my friends do paper. One's wife routinely hunts hardback copies for him as gifts. Since she also re-reads series she understands. We all read new books and not just books in the series we already know we like.
To me re-reading series is like visiting a favorite vacation spot. I want to go back again.

I'm with Barb. I have way too many books I want to read, too many new adventures waiting for me. As it is, my tbr grows way too quickly for me to ever catch up to it :)

Melodie (melodieco) I rarely re-read. I have re-read a few of the Spenser books and some of Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse books. I'm also like Barb, I have too many new books in The Pile calling my name!

I guess that's part of the problem. I can't think of many vacation spots I would like to revisit. I'd be really hard-pressed to name a favorite :)
