message 154: by Caslande (new)

Caslande Smith | 6 comments By heights, then by thickness

message 155: by lou :) (new)

lou :) I have two book shelves. One is random books that are organized by color (rainbow order) and the other is series. That way I can still keep all my series together.

Cinnabelle listens (cinnabelle) In Kindle collections, usually by author but also by series name. All my physical books but a few spiritual texts and cookbooks are in storage. They take too much space in my small home.

message 157: by J (new)

J I put my books on a shelf.

message 158: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 44 comments By genre. The history books are in order of the date of the topic (ancient history, middle ages, 20th century...) I swear I'm only OCD about my books.
The scence fiction has it's own section, then the fantasy by series. I have a shelf of science and reference books, one of classics, one of poetry, a couple for language books (alphabetical by language.) (It's possible I'm a nerd).

My ebooks are arranged by genre (history books are in chronological order, of course). I also have ebooks grouped by favorite or prolific authors.

message 159: by Ida (new)

Ida X (idax) | 17 comments The books on my bookshelf are organized by genre and color but I have not enough space to put them all in the little bookshekf I own. My classics and sapphic books in english are on shelf besides my bookshelf and my books with greek mythology are on a wall board.

The "Harry shelf" is the best thing I heard of in a long time

message 161: by Ebony and Ivory (new)

Ebony and Ivory (ebonyandivory) I change it sometimes but right now it is by genre (starting with my favorite) each alphabetically and then working down to nonfiction

message 162: by Siobhan (new)

message 163: by Fall (new)

Fall T I group series and standalones together.

message 164: by J (new)

J Realized recently that, without doing it deliberately, I have classics on the top shelf, 2nd: more classics mixed with contemporary literary fiction, 3rd: reference books, then philosophy, and finally a miscellaneous shelf that houses the non-fiction and books about writing.

message 165: by annie (new)

annie (artisannie) by color!

message 166: by [deleted user] (new)

Brittny's Book Talk | 91 comments I try to keep them by size series & genre... I want a rainbow bookshelf but splitting my series & sizes bothers me so much

message 169: by Mars | hiatus (new)

Mars | hiatus | 47 comments I do tallest to shortest on my smaller shelves, but if it’s a series I put them on a larger shelf and keep them together

Abbie (Jacks’ Version) (abbiemcn) | 0 comments Rainbow order. It is so pleasing to look at when my books are colour coordinated🍎🍊🍋🥝

message 171: by Ian (RebelGeek) (new)

Ian (RebelGeek) Seal (rebel-geek) | 47 comments For the 1st time in my life, my books are not in order. We got rid of a lot of books when we moved into our small house. Most of our books are just grouped together by subject, Star Wars, Tolkien, Harry Potter, Vampires, Stephen King, etc. I also have a lot of random books I am "reading" in strange places all over the living room.

message 172: by squeakers (new)

squeakers I organize my physical books by alphabetical order, author, not title

for GR, it's more in groups because there are many more

message 173: by Carla (new)

Carla (carlasanzo) | 91 comments Please don't judge me (even though I am judging myself LOL)

I have my books organized only after they have been read... I have to do it this way or I will never get through them LOL. I buy A LOT of books...
