Ready player One is about a dystopian future where the U.S.'s economy has crashed leaving most of the population in poverty. This has led most of the population to live on stacks of rv's. Because of everything going on, its natural for humanity to be drawn to something to take their mind off of the crisis. Welcome to the Oasis where what you create is up to your imagination. the protagonist Wade spends most of his time in the Oasis and discovers something that will change his life forever. I love this book because of the sheer amount of pop culture references and how it's just a great book in general. I would recommend this book even if you dint like video games because of how good of a book it is.
