Ok so some of us (okay maybe just me) only read in bed or on the couch but where does everyone else like to read? On the train, in Starbucks or on your balcony? If you do only read in bed or on your couch then what is your dream reading spot?

I do love reading in bed or on the library soft chairs but in high school I spent about 1 hr 30 min on the bus per day so I loved reading on the bus. I still do! My dream reading spot would definitely have to be in one of those amazing window nooks/window seats. But also just like those famous libraries too :')))

navi (boookksssss) | 4 comments I usually don't get time to read outside of my own house so reading in my bed with utter silence around me (which usually doesn't happen because my whole family is loud af) is the best place.

My dream place to read would probably be in some peaceful park/nature resort or a beach.

daniela (daniela_nieblina) I work an office job and play mobile games, so I mostly listen to audio books during work, or while getting ready for work, church, etc.

Physical books I use to love to read in the car or bus, but recently I've been developing car sickness.. so I only do that on a long trip where I'm so bored I just don't even care.

At home tho, its on the bed, locked in my room. My family hates seeing me read, thinking that it's the reason why I'm antisocial. So I prefer locking myself up, so no one can see me reading and get on my case about it.

My dream reading spot would be outside a cabin, in a gorgeous, cool (as in slightly chilly) forest, in a hammock. Oddly specific because I use to have a hammock that I LOVED reading in outside, and because I live in the freaking desert and there's like only three months I'm willing to be outside in.

I once went to an amazing hotel in Switzerland with the most amazing pool and egg chairs hanging from the ceiling (which was really high up) and I spent about 3 hours every day just listening to the pool water and reading ☺️

My ..."

My family's pretty loud too, and we live in a small house! So I created a little reading nook out of my closest, with pillows and blankets. Sometimes I read outside in the sunlight, but I can only read fictional when I'm alone and it's completely quiet, otherwise I can't focus on it.

My dream spot would be to have a little room as my reading nook, with a big chair and the walls lined with giant bookcases, and huge windows with old fashioned curtains. One day, that dream's going to come true!

Dalziel Mapp (dalzieldestroyedbybooksdailymapp) | 1 comments For me my favourite spot is in the garden on a bench under an apple tree right at the back, it's tucked out of the way, so perfect to hide from the other four members of my family (especially comfy though when my dogs join me).

However whenever it's too cold to read outside (which is most of the time) I adore reading on the stairs. No idea why. Just ever since I was little I would always be found sitting on them (always getting in trouble for it) and still do, though my bed is definitely a close second.

Apparently when I move out to go to uni next year my current room is being turned into a library room for all the books me and my parents own so I'm hoping for a comfy little nook inside it when it happens. :)

BlueSkyReader_o7 During the Winter I will read in my bed.

But when it's nice out I'll read outside. I love to just lay down in the grass under the trees and read.

My dream reading spot would be the library. And I know. "What? Don't you go to the library!"
Yes I do! It's just that it's always a quick trip and I would love to just sit down and read a book in peace and quiet :)

Sydney | 1 comments In my window seat❤️ I also love reading in the grass outside!

Hollybooks | 4 comments I normally read on my couch or in my bed too, so my dream reading place would be in hammock somewhere outside, in the sun, looking out to sea 🌊

Teresa Faliq ☼ (teresa_trilogies) I pretty much either read on my desk or my bed, haha

@Sydney the grass one is so appealing, but every time I try I cannot stand the bugs for more than 2 minutes. FAILURE.

Born To Read (borntoreadbooks) | 1 comments I usually read in bed or on the sofa. I just need to be relaxed. I don't mind if the tv is on. I just tend to immerse myself into the book and I don't pay attention to the outside world.
That's why I don't read on the train or bus. I would miss my stop for sure.

message 15: by Fran (new)

Fran (heronfray) my favourite places to read are my room, a cafe or the library [only if the reading section is quiet] ☺️

Olivia's Bookish Places & Spaces During the cold months: a library or a quiet cafe

During the warm months: in a park or under a tree/in nature

I only read in bed at nighttime.

If I'm traveling I will read in the airport or on a plane.

message 17: by Audrey (new)

Audrey (niceyackerman) Often on my bed, though I’m more likely to fall asleep or get distracted by the computer. I’ll also read in the living room while I practice. (I can read a magazine on my music stand while doing scales and technique exercises on flute/clarinet. Then I’ll take a reading break to rest my arms/fingers/hands/lungs after playing piano/flute/violin/trumpet/clarinet for about 15 minutes.)

I listen to audiobooks in the car, but I can’t read with my eyes in the car without getting carsick. Outdoors is usually too hot or too cold or too windy or too many bugs. Also, my eyes refuse to dilate in sunlight, so I need sunglasses outdoors, but that makes it too dark to read.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) It depends on my mood, what's going on, and temperature!

» My porch! I love reading on the chair with a smaller chair in front of me to kick up my foot. Bonus if it's night (cooler) or raining.
» Living room couch -- I always will turn on my little fake fireplace and turn on RainyMood video on Youtube for ambience (or other videos, made a playlist). Have the coffee table there for drinks and to prop stuff up
» In bed. Sometimes I turn on the Youtube Ambience videos in there.
» In bath! I love taking long hot baths while reading. Have a bath pillow and bubble bath for the occasion.
» Pretty areas outside when the weather is nice
» Very rare but it's fun to read at a coffeeshop sometimes.

I tend to read a lot of my couch or in bed, my dream spot would be on the beach with a light breeze and a blanket 😍

Judy Ohhh (judyohh) | 5 comments My bed or couch! But I plan on making my little apartment backyard into something worthwhile this summer, so I am hoping that will be my new go-to-place
