Nothing But Reading Challenges discussion

I've been reading anything and everything that's popped up. Can't wait!! Woohoo!

Oh and I get to actually read but first dust off my Harry Potter books since I only read the first book to my youngest awhile back and never continued it. 😬 So now I'll read it with the everyone else 😀

Just because I love to tease, here's a snapshot of my To Do List / Creative Genius in process:

I'm holding off reading some of my SOS books just so I can use them for TT too. Two weeks seems so near yet so far.

And yes, I do plan and brainstorm in English. It makes more sense than to think it all in Portuguese and then translate - there's less "lost in translation" effect.

I actually prefer our kind of weather. I lived in Venezuela for 4 years when I was little. Can't remember much but I do remember how hot and humid it was.

I also am terrible sorry that our puff pastries don't travel well, otherwise I would trade Pasteis de Nata for Doce de Leite with all our Brazilian members, because I love the stuff (I eat it by spoon fulls) and the versions I get around here... are not as good.

A friend of mine brought me this HUGE jar when he went home for christmas... I was so happy I even danced.... and posted a picture to make Juliana jealous, the poor thing.

I'm not sure because he just talked all throughout the reading but still talks a lot. LOL so I'll be doing a re-read of it then continuing bjt I did see the first movie but only parts of some of the others. I can never get a chance to sit 😕

Also, for the doce de leite, what you can try to do is, is you can get canned condensed milk, pop it in the pressure cooker

Fingers crossed that sooner or later you'll be able to watch them! But do read the books first. You'll get more of the magic that is Hogwarts if you do :-)

So is this going to be like the other TT rounds where players can read whatever they feel like reading and the team gets points? Or will books only count if they're part of the Quidditch thing? I will probably skip this round if that's the case.

It has it all... It's regular tower teams where you can read whatever you want with points per page count
It has boms, if you want to join
It has buddy reads, if you want to join
It has Harry Potter buddy reads
It has HP spells for spell it out for piints
It has classes
It has quidditch
It has Tri-Wizard Tournament

It will have some of the mods as crazy as mad-eye moody for trying to have so much

But it will be so much fun

Oh no. Not at all like wobble. Apart from quidditch, everything is open from the start to finish... And buddy reads are by request, as they usually are.

We're using tower teams III as working ground with a Harry Potter theme.

Awesome. I will participate in some if the extra games. I just don’t want to have to start series I am not interested in it ready for or have to speed read. I am no longer the power reader that I used to be.

Dang and blast!!! I wasn't sure I was going to take part (I'm feeling challenged out) but having read all about it I want to do everything. So much for a nice relaxing next couple of months :D

I have a question about the negative points. If I join a team and just read at my own pace and don't do a lot of the extra challenges, that won't give my team negative points will it?

Negative points are for not completing the task...like not spelled a whole word or something.

If you are reading at your own pace, is perfectly fine. You don't have to tackle a whole spell or class just by yourself. There are tons of books read during the challenge. And apart from Quidditch or some random exception, they can all be used towards spells, classes and other tasks at hand.
