Ghost Whistler Drakenfeld by Marc (i forgot his full name) Newton (sorry!) Looks like it could be a fun renaissancel-esque different kind of fantasy?

City of Stairs which looks really interesting

The Copper Promise (Jen William) which looks fun

Herald of the Storm (Richard Ford) reminds me of Locke Lamora (which i have incoming) for some reason: citybased fantasy.

Let me know, and preferrably before Amazon sells them to someone else :D

EDIT!

Garden of Stones by Mark T Barnes which looks really intriguing

Ghost Whistler Just curious whether people felt a particular way about them

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) | 2717 comments I got The Copper Promise recently, though I'm not sure when I'll get to reading it.

If I may offer a suggestion. It would be best to link to the books you're asking about to make it easier for people unfamiliar with the titles to read about them, if they're interested to do so.

Ghost Whistler Fair enough.

I picked up City of Stairs, Herald of the Storm.

I'd like to get Copper Promise.

But then I bought:

Dancer's Lament because i want to get back into Malazan having only read the first book and Night of Knives. I used to have the first 5 but i gave up on them ages ago and gave them to a charity shop. I kinda regret that. Now i'll have to find somewhere else to buy them cheap :D

The Waking Fire because it looks awesome with a steampunky/industrial vibe.

and The Steel Remains because it looks awesome and I gave up on Joe Abercrombie when I read Before they are Hanged and found it unsatisfying. Blade Itself is brilliant, but the subversion of tropes in book 2 left me cold (to put it without recourse to spoilers).

God I can't help myself. I also want The Mirror Empire

And a ton of other stuff...it never ends!

MadProfessah (madprofesssah) | 775 comments The whole trilogy by Richard K Morgan which starts with THE STEEL REMAINS, continues with the THE COLD COMMANDS and ends with THE DARK DEFILES is very interesting. The last book is a bit too complicated for its own good.
