Chapter 7 - 10
(view spoiler)

Chapter 1 - 6

It was a slow start for me, but I just started chapter 7 and I'm starting to enjoy it.
I, too, like that Jane owns a bookstore. What it must be like to be surrounded by books all day.
I didn't like what Dan did because he was definitely giving off signals that he was interested in Jane. Right before Sam walked in it sounded like he was going to ask her out or even ask for her number. And what about Sam? At first I was thinking, she just missed her sister and was excited to see her, but it seems like Sam can be insensitive at times and unaware. Yes, she has a big personality, but I think she should sometimes be mindful of her sister and others around her. Just my opinion.
Yes, Caleb with a cowboy hat in NY is such a strange image. I would definitely stare at him in confusion. Other New Yorkers may run for fear that he is a terrorist LOL
I wonder what happened Caleb's family and what on earth could be doing by himself for a week between Christmas and New Years.

I can't wait until I finish chapter 10. I'll be able to finally read your spoiler.

Indeed, the start was slow, but I liked it more and more.
Indeed, all day surrounded by books and talking to people who want to buy their next read.
Yes, Dan gave the wrong signals. I thought at one point that Dan was interested in Jane and I was surprised that Dan was suddenly interested in her sister..
I agree with your opinion about her sister. She doesn't really think about her sister's feelings. Sam is very honest. But it was still obvious that Sam is close to Jane and Sam loves her. I think that Sam never noticed that Jane was jealous of her sister, because she never said anything about it. Your message 59, I also can't believe she died!! I reread that sentence, just to sure that I read that right lol
Caleb with hat in NY is something I never got used too. It was too strange. Everybody must think at first that he's on vacation there, but then they see him daily lol
Your message 58: Yes, it got very messy at a certain moment. Felecia was one crush too many..

Chapter 7 - 10
First of all: nooooooooooooooooo, Jane's sister can't have died!!!?? I wanted to say that when I read..."
My Goodness Hanne! I had to take a break from the book for a moment to process what I was feeling about Sam's death. I'm shocked that Sam died, but I also don't have any emotion towards her. The problem is that I didn't really get to know her. I feel bad for Jane, but I don't feel a sense of loss....does that make sense?
I feel bad because Jane had confusing emotions towards her sister and she is probably going to feel guilty about the death, but other than that, I don't feel anything. I'm not sure what the author's purpose was with Sam's death, but I don't think she achieved it. The book is too short to have such a life changing event like death in it...In my opinion.

I'm also never sure what an author's purpose can be about someone's death. Especially an unexpected one. The book is indeed short and the death is at a weird time, around the half of the book.. The author could have brought Jane and Caleb together at another way, and Sam could have helped with that..
I think that for you Tell Me will not be a winner.. Sorry!

This is going to end up going very badly for Jane in the morning. I can feel it. I'm so afraid she is going to be very hurt because there is no way Caleb is going to stay and Jane is not a person who gives her body away to just anybody. I feel impending doom....

No need to apologize. I enjoy discussing books with you. Even when we disagree on something I still find your perspective interesting.
It did seem like Jane and Sam were close, but you're right...there could have been some more scenes with them before her abrupt death. I feel like I just met her and poof - she's gone.

Yes, just met and poof. It was a bit too unexpected..

He wants her to travel all the way to Canada without a way to contact him. LMBO! Wow.

Hahaha. It's in Canada, but a special place that you really realize later on in the book. You'll my thougths about the travel in my spoiler 😜

I wasn't happy that Caleb decided to leave Jane after the night they spent together. But I also understood it. It just wasn't their time. Jane was still grieving too much a..."
I was on the fence about Caleb leaving. I knew something horrible happened to him or else he wouldn't spend the holidays alone every single year. So, I thought it was selfish of Jane to ask him to stay knowing he does this every year, but I also thought it was selfish of Caleb to have sex with her knowing that he was going to leave. That whole situation was bad.
Me too! I forgot about Dan's letter. And then was shocked that Jane was actually going to meet him. I thought this was a little far-fetched. Who would really do that? I could see if it was on the Brooklyn bridge, or at the top of the empire state building, but she is going to expedite a passport (which is expensive) and then travel to another country! This is not realistic.
However, it was sooooo sweet when Caleb dropped everything after receiving that phone call from Ki Ki. I swooned a little. Caleb ended his trip early to get to Jane {sigh}. And of course he was wearing that cowboy hat.
This is going to be one interesting car ride.

I liked that she said it freely and it felt natural, but how can she be mad that he didn't return it when she said it only in reference to something that he gave her.
why do people get mad at the other person if they say i love you first and it's not returned? I know it may hurt, but how can you be mad at them because they are not ready to say it or because they don't feel it yet.

The intimacy in this book is fine. My favorite scene is their second time in the tent. Although it is the shortest, it's the sweetest.
But I think I'm ready for a hardcore alpha LOL

By the way...what happened to her parents? Caleb was supposed to get her to go home for Christmas.

the paper cranes were a great gesture, but the author never said how many he actually made.
Caleb's words became so moving, especially for someone who has trouble expressing himself.
Then the book was ruined. They went from trying to see if the relationship would work, to talking about a honeymoon, then marriage, then a proposal. Then the book ended.

Caleb needed to know the ending of that book. He goes listening in his car, late at night, lol. He wasn't happy with the death of one of the characters, just like I wasn't happy wi..."
Yes, Caleb's situation was very sad. I wonder how his older brother copes with that.
I agree that the Dan situation was very weird. I don't think he was really needed in the book. something else could have filled his role.
Caleb leaving Jane was a big no no for me. If he left her somewhere in Brooklyn or even Manhattan that would be different, but he left her in a different country. That is wrong. And although he realized it, he didn't go back and get her, or reach out to fix it.
The last scene in Jane's apartment was good. I started to really feel the emotions they had for each other. I felt like some of this should have been sprinkled throughout the book because that would have helped me to accept the quick proposal at the end.
I don't like the ending either. The author sped up the book and everything went really fast. I also have a lot of questions. The same questions as yours and more.
Caleb was my favorite character until he left Jane in Canada. Then Jane sent the amazing text message and she became my favorite character.

I agree, Jane was selfish to ask Caleb to stay, since he left each year. She should know that it was important, because otherwise he wouldn't do it every year. But Caleb shouldn't have slept with Jane. They were both wrong.
Going all the way to Canada to meet someone just to say that her sister has died, is indeed unrealistic. But I also get why I had to be there, because it's a place from "her sister's" favorite book. Dan also loved that book, so it meant something to both of them if Jane would have been honest. Dan's role was indeed not necessary, just like Sam's death.
Caleb was so sweet to drop everything to join Jane and the car ride was interesting. I loved it too that Caleb fell in love with the book. That was something Jane looked for in her ideal man.
I also don't like it when people don't understand when someone can't say 'I love you' back, when it's very new and unexpected. Jane didn't even had feelings for Caleb until the night they slept together. Caleb is not someone who had a lot of relationship, so she shouldn't think that he fell head over heels in love with her. Saying 'I love you' is not something little and it should feel right.
Lol. I sometimes need a book with an alpha too. I don't remember the intimacy scenes to say which one I liked the most lol
Yeah, I also can't imagine the scene with the ashes. That was emotional and I felt for Jane.
If I'm not mistaken, Jane went home for Christmas.. She left shortly after the first time they slept together. After that night, there was a time jump of a few months, so we didn't get to read about Jane visiting her parents.
I also couldn't believe it that Caleb left Jane at that moment! In a strange country. Leaving a cab wasn't enough! I liked Jane's thoughts and her message then
I loved those paper cranes, because it made it clear that Caleb listened to Jane. I was also waiting for the number of paper cranes, but it never came.. We just knew that it weren't a 1000.
I also loved Caleb's words at the end. The emotions they had for each other were clear then. But then it indeed went too fast.. I also had more questions than the ones I mentioned. One more chapter would have made it a much better ending..

I agree with you that Sam's death was not necessary. At all!
Yes, it was so sweet that Caleb loved the book. He even looked up stuff about the author and read Jane some quotes. Caleb taught Jane new things about the book and the author. I needed that scene because it showed me that there was more to Caleb than hiking. and it showed that they both have inquisitive minds.
You feel the same way about the I love you thing? YAY! I'm so glad. but you know Jane had a crush on Caleb from the time she met him. When Caleb and Sam were in college, Jane liked Caleb then. You may not remember it because it was talked about very briefly in the book. On my Kindle it's around page 59 - 61.
Exactly. you don't remember them because they weren't anything super special. LOL!
Oh, There were a couple of time jumps in this book. I must have missed the one with her parents.
Yeah. I like that Caleb actually listened to Jane. People could probably easily tune her out, but Caleb listen's to her. Even when he doesn't understand. The cranes were an example of him listening.
One more chapter and an epilogue would have been nice.

Oh no, no struggling! :o I'm only up chapter 9. I'm liking it so far, but Chloe is not my favorite. I love it that she did something crazy, but she overthinks everything and doubts her decision almost constantly. She wasn't sure about what to think about Aiden and she barely knew him, yet she goes on vacation with him for one week?!
I love that kind of first chapter. I can't wait for it to happen later on in the book. But I already know that it will happen at the end of their week together.. That first chapter makes it look like Aiden is a bad man, because he's maybe going to kill somebody? Also some moments during the other chapters (until 9) make it look like Aiden is a bad man. But I think he will be not as bad as he now looks. But it's very suspicious that he won't say what he sells..
I really liked it that they went skydiving. It was unexpected and exciting for Chloe. Aiden wants Chloe to be more spontaneous, wilder. He just makes her want to enjoy living.
I'm pretty sure her drinks at the bar in the beginning were spiked. I don't know by who, but she acted weird. I'm glad Aiden was there to take her home and I don't think it was him

There were parts of the book that I really enjoyed. I told you I was ready for an Alpha and Aiden gave us that. He also had a soft side that was sweet.
However, I had a difficult time getting past their whirlwind romance. It happened entirely too quick. One minute they just met and the next she's flying to Miami to spend the week with him.
I actually liked Aiden and Chloe. I think Shay Savage did a good job of creating two characters that were strong where the other was weak.
I also liked the element of danger. Did you know that I like action novels? Shay gave us a little action in this one.
And can I say how happy I am that we had an Alpha in the bedroom? YES! Aiden was definitely a take charge, dirty talking man.
I'm going to cut my reflections short to read yours and respond.

Yes. Shay did a very good job keeping Aiden's job a mystery. I thought it was funny when he revealed that he actually sold medicine to doctors. Although it's not really believable that he goes from clinic to clinic selling medication and physicians buy it from a guy who looks like him.
Me too. I thought her drinks at the bar were spiked. Shay made it seem like something was wrong with her drinks.
Your option 1 was almost correct :o) The way his son and ex girlfriend died was sad.
OMGosh...Hanne. That scene was crazy. I enjoyed the things that Aiden said to Chloe. they were sweet, but agreeing to unprotected sex. Again, they just met. There is more to unprotected sex than pregnancy. I didn't like that either.
Yeah. I didn't think Aiden was all bad either, but that scene must have been scary for Chloe. She knew Aiden was hiding something. He receives a phone call and becomes scary angry and pulls out a gun. I think I would have run too LOL
I like Aiden too. I also like Chloe. I think they are good for each other.
