Tammie | 4553 comments ****Request for all Teamies****
We're doing very well with knocking out our Classes and Spells.
I sorted the Planning SS so we could all do a double check on what we've claimed for books.
*Please take a minute and verify what's recorded is complete. If you've decided not to read something that's on the sheet, if you could please update that and any classes claimed that would be good. If we need to be aware to swap something out...just make a note in this thread.
*DBL check BRs are correct
Ideally we would be very close to finishing classes prior to Tri-Wizard starting...we have plenty of time, but we'll be trying to round out our spells and who knows if we are playing another round of Quidditch or not...that could throw us a bit.
Thanks!

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments I've been trying to clean up how my names are logged in for the spells. I guess I had a blonde moment when I logged those in and didn't notice the set up. (and I can say that because I am blonde).

It is also my plan to finish: The Shining, Johannes Cabal and Rules of Magic in the next couple of days.

One comment really isn't enough. If you like, you could continue to converse until you feel like you've interacted enough to substantiate the extra points...I think at least 4+ posts feels right. Thanks Mary! If Ashley has already used your book for something else, you don't need to worry about the 'names' so much.

@ALL if you look at the planning SS, there is a tab that will show what letters we still need. Even though the main sheet hasn't been filled in for the 'lower pointed spells' Ashley has been designating along the way on our planning sheet. We've made a huge dent over the last week or so on vowels...so we're down to about 1/3 of what we need being vowels vs 1/2 so that's great!

I'm most concerned about getting anything off of there that you are NOT going to read.

Thanks!

Tammie | 4553 comments Mary: Harry Dresden's Love Slave wrote: "What about a BR that someone else started, I joined but then no one else seems to be reading and commenting?"

That is frustrating...it's happened to me once. What I did was 'message' the persons that were supposed to be in it and that seemed to help. I don't think it can count for a BR if there hasn't been dialogue. You can always 'go back' and converse if you are running way ahead...I've had to do that once too.

I read Coraline by Neil Gaimen a while ago. It had reading fortune in tea leaves in it. Maybe it can be moved?

The passage would be "I'll read the leaves, if you want" said Miss Spink to Coraline.
"Sorry?"said Coraline
"The tea leaves, dear. I'll read your future." (9.9% in)

Oh yeah. They foretell that she will have great danger ahead of her and give her the stone with a hole in the middle, which is very useful for her to defeat the other mother :)

Maddy | 2127 comments I will be done with Scales soon. It is a fast read, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I tried to finish the Glass castle first. I am struggling with Stephen King, but I will have it done soon too. His works are usually a bit chaotic and slow-moving at the first half, but this is the worst I have read so far ...

We can also use The Night Circus for divination if needed. I am almost finished with Dragonfly in Amber - should be today or tomorrow. That's what's plugged into that Arithmancy spot. I'm still a go for green cover. It's what I plan on reading this weekend after I finish Dragonfly in Amber. That should knock out all the classes I've signed up for.

Tri-Wizard begins July 1-31. We have very little info as of now...but understand the concept has been modified from original somewhat. Houses will be involved again to some extent.

I've been looking for another Quidditch match to begin 'any day'...would think we'ld have a bit of notice though...we'll see...

TT goes through July 31...no word on extending it as of this minute.

I wasn't a big fan of The Gunslinger either but a friend encouraged me to keep reading the rest of The Dark Tower series and I loved (most) of it. There were a few odd turns that seemed unnecessary to me but as a whole that series was enjoyable. I haven't read any other SK though but my husband was a big fan of It and The Shining.

Hey JanE...you mentioned in BR thread for A Fault in our stars that you are reading that...I think it would probably work for both of us to have read the same book in that class...there's nothing in the rules that says we can't though...just in case that would save you a book to read...
