OK Maddy/Mary...I'll try one more time...but I need a 'cooling off' period!

OMG Chava...WOW...glad you are back...gladder they are OK I assume. That's a lot to deal with!

We're doing very well with knocking out our Classes and Spells.
I sorted the Planning SS so we could all do a double check on what we've claimed for books.
*Please take a minute and verify what's recorded is complete. If you've decided not to read something that's on the sheet, if you could please update that and any classes claimed that would be good. If we need to be aware to swap something out...just make a note in this thread.
*DBL check BRs are correct
Ideally we would be very close to finishing classes prior to Tri-Wizard starting...we have plenty of time, but we'll be trying to round out our spells and who knows if we are playing another round of Quidditch or not...that could throw us a bit.
Thanks!

It is also my plan to finish: The Shining, Johannes Cabal and Rules of Magic in the next couple of days.

Jenn...regarding 'The Source'...would this book work for what JanE has referenced in post 763??

Thank you and I commented a couple of times in the BR thread. Not sure if that counts... - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

One comment really isn't enough. If you like, you could continue to converse until you feel like you've interacted enough to substantiate the extra points...I think at least 4+ posts feels right. There are a couple of people on there reading now. Totally your call Natesha...just let us know once you've decided/read enough.
Thanks,

Thanks Mary! If Ashley has already used your book for something else, you don't need to worry about the 'names' so much.
@ALL if you look at the planning SS, there is a tab that will show what letters we still need. Even though the main sheet hasn't been filled in for the 'lower pointed spells' Ashley has been designating along the way on our planning sheet. We've made a huge dent over the last week or so on vowels...so we're down to about 1/3 of what we need being vowels vs 1/2 so that's great!
I'm most concerned about getting anything off of there that you are NOT going to read.
Thanks!

That is frustrating...it's happened to me once. What I did was 'message' the persons that were supposed to be in it and that seemed to help. I don't think it can count for a BR if there hasn't been dialogue. You can always 'go back' and converse if you are running way ahead...I've had to do that once too.

I read Coraline by Neil Gaimen a while ago. It had reading fortune in tea leaves in it. Maybe it can be moved?
The passage would be "I'll read the leaves, if you want" said Miss Spink to Coraline.
"Sorry?"said Coraline
"The tea leaves, dear. I'll read your future." (9.9% in)

And that is why I do not like BR :D

Yeah...I just tag the thread to send me a notify and then when someone pops in, I do to. It's the easiest way I think...that way I don't really have to worry about it. Good luck!

Thanks Maddy...I'll defer to Ashley to figure it out...she's been posting all our classes/spells thus far.

Oh yeah. They foretell that she will have great danger ahead of her and give her the stone with a hole in the middle, which is very useful for her to defeat the other mother :)

This book has all kinds of magic going on
Kate does magic to stop 'plague like' catastrophes from happening
She also uses magic to identify things
Sword on the cover
There is a character that reads minds...I'm doing audio so I'd need to go back and get that name if you think it would be helpful

We have a spare HP book that I can use to fill this!

Awesome, I'm glad this one works for that class. I love Coraline!

We can also use The Night Circus for divination if needed. I am almost finished with Dragonfly in Amber - should be today or tomorrow. That's what's plugged into that Arithmancy spot. I'm still a go for green cover. It's what I plan on reading this weekend after I finish Dragonfly in Amber. That should knock out all the classes I've signed up for.

I liked the Shining. I think it could have been 100 pages shorter. My boyfriend is a big Stephen King fan so I decided to give him another try. I had a hard time with the Gunslinger.

Tri-Wizard begins July 1-31. We have very little info as of now...but understand the concept has been modified from original somewhat. Houses will be involved again to some extent.
I've been looking for another Quidditch match to begin 'any day'...would think we'ld have a bit of notice though...we'll see...
TT goes through July 31...no word on extending it as of this minute.

Mary: Harry Dresden's Love Slave wrote: "Silver Linings Playbook is a BR that doesn't start until 7/7. I can start it sooner but I don't know if we'll get credit for the BR if it's submitted before the BR actually takes place."
My one and only SK was the Gunslinger and I was not impressed. Others have assured me to try something else...I will but that one was not a good one for me.

I wasn't a big fan of The Gunslinger either but a friend encouraged me to keep reading the rest of The Dark Tower series and I loved (most) of it. There were a few odd turns that seemed unnecessary to me but as a whole that series was enjoyable. I haven't read any other SK though but my husband was a big fan of It and The Shining.

Hey JanE...you mentioned in BR thread for A Fault in our stars that you are reading that...I think it would probably work for both of us to have read the same book in that class...there's nothing in the rules that says we can't though...just in case that would save you a book to read...
