Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments I found a book for the "teacher character" task. I will listen to that one next because I have let it expire and rejoined the wait list at my library like 3 times now and it's a favorite author of mine.

The Broken Girls by Simone St. James

It's on the spreadsheet. Also works for eerie/scary cover (I think) if Jan doesn't read her book for that and you want to use it there instead.

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments Also found a "bottle on cover"

Killer's Wedge (87th Precinct #7) by Ed McBain

It's on the spread sheet and on my reading list for this week.

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments I don't suppose the characters of a book being targeted by the god of war Aries counts as being "under siege?"

Red Demon (Gods of Midnight, #3) by Deidre Knight

Chava...I think Jan has tge scary cover...Jan if after you finish reading it works somewhere else we can use Chavas too. In the meantime Chava...if this doesn’t work anywhere else be sure to give us possible letters for MCs so we can use for Char spells...just like you’ve been doing.

We could also consider using it in a relay...it would probably need to be book one...is there a book out there that starts with ‘Kevin’ on anyone’s shelf? Or ends in ‘we’?...both a long shot I know...

I looked up ‘seige’...if you can describe any of these defs... it works as far as I’m concerned:

a military operation in which enemy forces surround a town or building, cutting off essential supplies, with the aim of compelling the surrender of those inside.
"Verdun had withstood a siege of ten weeks"

synonyms: blockade, encirclement
"the siege of the fort lasted into the morning"
an operation in which a police or other force surround a building and cut off supplies, with the aim of forcing an armed person to surrender
