No that's right...could voldimort be the dark creature...he's in book 1 OR wizard/wand from 1 and use a book 2 with it....?

Book: Beyond Galaxy's Edge (The Phoenix Adventures #4) by Anna Hackett Beyond Galaxy's Edge
Author: Anna Hackett
Pages: 221
Read: May 28

About the classes...
I am not sure where it would be the most useful, so I'll let the captains decide ;)

It could fit:
1. Astronomy - Galaxy in title (but small page count so maybe not that useful)
2. Care of magical creatures - feeding habits. "It was then she realized they were feeding on the blood" (54.8%)
3. Summoning charm - flying space ship on cover
4.Potions - green cover (It looks visibly green, but tineye says it is 25.1 percent green)
5. Transfiguration - the girl into a reptilian (the girl on the cover of this book has reptilian eyes and skin)
6. Dark arts- there are human eating plants and vines that really hate laser fire, but not the main focus of the story

I hope it makes sense.

Ashley | 1439 comments QUIDDITCH

You would have all just received an invite to The Lion's Den. The exception is DeeDee who will need to accept my friend request before I can invite you.

The Quidditch rules are there (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...).

Please read through and post in the Gryffindor Chat thread if you wish to nominate yourself for a challenge. Be brave! We need someone to do this.

Btw...if someone else really wants t play, you are totally in!

message 419: by Maddy (new)

Maddy | 2127 comments The Quidditch rules seem a bit vague, but I can be a chaser or seeker if we really need more players, but I wouldn't be good for beater or keeper since my access to many books is limited (like with Cinder, it was published several years ago, but only recently printed in my country as a "brand new" book) and if the opposite team reads something I do not have access to, then we could be in trouble...

message 420: by Maddy (new)

Maddy | 2127 comments Me again with another question. I reread the rules and it has no mention of using Translators name for Spell out.
Usual NBRC rules allow to use Translators name or surname for Spell-it-out. Does that apply here? Has this question been answered somewhere?

No mention of translating...I assume for spellout it’s just read the first letter of the book, but I will ask mods...*see Ashley comment below*

For quidditch, I put you down for seeker...that may not be the best role for you if getting books is an issue for you...nothing set yet...just weigh in on the thread for our quidditch discussion and we can move things around accordingly if this won’t work for you

For the letters X, Y and V, you can also use translators names and or audion narrator names, providing the edition you are reading allows for it.

Meaning, you'll have to read the translated version to use translator's name or listening to the audio version to use the narrator's name.

It should be fine. They are usually using known books. If they are going to be popular or semi popular books, I should be able to find a translated version or get them on kindle, or if that fails, I can always search for "read online" versions :)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments I already have plenty of books lined up to read, without having to work unplanned ones in for Quidditch. So I'm ok not being a player. But I would try and look for something if needed. But I get 99% of my books from the library. So that might be an issue.

Perhaps have a look at the chasers and the seeker. The chasers have more freedom to select what they want to read so this might suit you better?

Awesome! It's such a fun series and as the main characters grow the maturity of the content grows also (gets a little darker). Yes, I'm hoping to re-read the whole series. I want to listen to the audio versions this time but the holds for the audio downloads are crazy! Right now I'm listening to the first book on audio CD during my commute to work. Slow going but the narrator is awesome, hoping to be able to listen to the rest on my phone when the time comes :)

Natesha...I'm also reading for the first time...I just started book 4 and I've been doing the BReads for extra points...

Q...I don't have you down for the BReads...if you are doing them please indicate a link to your first post or the 1st post number so we can put you down for the extra points.

I'm really enjoying these as well. I tried many years ago to read book 1 and just didn't like it...I was just getting started back with reading back then and I think I just didn't connect with the younger genre...I've really diversified since and I'm liking them...it's interesting how they progress darker...stronger characters.
