Got my copy as well, I cannot believe we have Bryan Smith himself joining us. Holy guacamole. Epic.
I've been rooting for a real killer asteroid for the last year and a half. I'll read this to see what I have to look forward to. :)

Hi, Bryan! Welcome to HA and thanks for coming.

That was intense. Sorry, had to skim over some parts. I guess I'm squeamish about some things. Liked the way the various story lines merged at the end. Not for everyone but I hope a few more HA members will give this a try.

Getting ready to start this one tonight. What can you tell us about the cover, Bryan? Who did it for you? How much imput do you have on this one and your covers, in general?

I'm entering into a new arrangement soon for paperback editions of my forthcoming books, so the responsibility of coming up with the covers will again be taken out of my hands. Thankfully.
I see that you’ve self-published the last few of your books. How has that worked for you? Why challenges have you faced by self-publishing?

As for story ideas, they can come from pretty much anywhere. Most often they emerge from random stream of thought, while I'm mulling over a lot of different things, which is how Last Day came about. But story ideas can also be inspired by things in the news, a random bit of overheard conversation, coincidences that make me go "Hmm, what if...?", and so forth.
Do you have a particular place that you like to write or a schedule that you try to stick to? Or do you write wherever and whenever you're able?

Finished this one up this morning and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. Even in such a crazy, tumultuous setting, I thought the characters really shined. Each one displayed multiple layers to them, instead of being cardboard thin.

GREAT question!
GREAT question!

By the way, I apologize for the delay in answering this question. My birthday was on the 19th and my wife had a couple days off from work. I drank a bunch of beers and got distracted.

Maybe your next story can be something about an author who failed to keep up the internet chat with his/her fans due to a drunken stupor and now they're out to get him/her.
On second thought, maybe I should copyright that and come up with a story myself. ;)

Too bad it's been done but couldn't that be said of almost any book. I think your characters would love some revenge. ;)
I admit I don't know what the other stories are like but I bet your story would top them all. You should go for it.
