Caelena Fey (caelenabooktopia) | 8 comments What makes you think that Reverse Hareem book is an Okay or Good Book in Paranormal/Fantasy genre? When do you think it's crossing the line?

I like a good reverse harem as long as the guys are hot. But those guys should be useful story-wise too. For instance, they should have careers or be skilled in something (like repairing stuff.)

In short, they simply can't exist as eye candy.

Or maybe they can depending on the plot.

Nerdy Werewolf (nerdywerewolf) I haven't really tried my hand at those, but I did start reading a series that's gearing up to be reverse-harem (the author was unaware that she could market them as such, so it was just classified at 'sci-fi-romance.'

I've got a friend (Bunnycore) that loves them, though, so I've always been curious. I guess I'll come back once I've got a few read.

Brandy (bookloverbrandy) | 1 comments RH can be really good. Unfortunately the market is flooded with not so good. A lot are brand new authors so the experience and support team is not there. Poor to no editing is a major pitfall for me. There also seems like there's a checklist that is given out for new authors to follow - horribly abused heroine ✔, PTSD & triggered by EVERYTHING ✔, etc...
But when you find those hidden gems they are fantastic! There are a few that I love and would recommend to anyone wanting to read RH.

Brandy (bookloverbrandy) | 1 comments Godhunter by Amy Sumida; It was my 1st RH. It slowly eases you into the RH. It's a loooong series but good.

Curse of the Gods by Jaymin Eve & Jane Washington

The Veil Diaries by B.L. Brunnemar; This is YA and a very very slow burn. It will branch into a NA series with all the same characters as adults.

The Dark Side by Kristy Cunning

There are a couple others I'm reading and enjoy, but it's very early into the series. I don't want to recommend until they get over the sophmore slump and know for sure they're going to continue as good as book 1 was.

Spoken like someone who's been burned before and learned to tread water...I approve (not that you need it...lol).

Thanks for the recommendations!

~JustMel~ | 44 comments I absolutely LOVE RH! I haven’t found any that crossed any of my lines... not yet anyway.

I have to agree with Brandy about Godhunter. I love that series... and the length!! There are currently 23 books in the series, and I honestly wouldn’t mind if more were added... it’s that good. They’re all Kindle Unlimited at the moment, so if you have it jump in!

A few others I thought were great are:

Spirited (The Academy of Spirits and Shadows, #1) by C.M. Stunich
Haunted (The Academy of Spirits and Shadows #2) by C.M. Stunich
Allison's Adventures in Underland (Harem Of Hearts, #1) by C.M. Stunich
Elements of Mischief (Hijinks Harem, #1) by Tate James
Elements of Ruin (Hijinks Harem, #2) by Tate James
Elements of Desire (Hijinks Harem #3) by Tate James

Those last three are quite smutty, but if you like that, then by all means. Unfortunately, the second book to “Allison in Underland” and the third book in the “Spirited” series are on hold as the author had a death in the family.

Tate James's “Kit Davenport” series is pretty awesome too. She co-writes the “Elements of Hijinks” series with C.M. Stunich. Chock full of action more than sexy times, but the sexy times are there too ;)

The Vixen's Lead (Kit Davenport, #1) by Tate James
The Tiger’s Ambush (Kit Davenport, #3) by Tate James
The Dragon's Wing (Kit Davenport, #2) by Tate James
The Viper's Nest (Kit Davenport, #4) by Tate James
The Crow’s Murder (Kit Davenport, #5) by Tate James

There are a few stand-alones I’ve read that were pretty good too. Just check out my books!

Have you tried the Redemption Saga by Kristen Banet? Currently there are only 2 books out, but the 3rd is set to release in August. They are kind of dark, but I have enjoyed this series so far. If you haven't yet you should check it out.

No I haven’t! But I’ll add it to my list along with the others you mentioned before. Thanks!

Nerdy Werewolf (nerdywerewolf) I've added the The Vixen's Lead (Kit Davenport, #1) by Tate James books to my TBR...I'm kind of obsessed with shifters.

I have a friend that loved these series by that author: Real Ugly (Hard Rock Roots, #1) by C.M. Stunich and Dark Glitter (Wild Hunt Motorcycle Club, #1) by C.M. Stunich . This one caught my eye: Pack Ebon Red (The Seven Mates of Zara Wolf, #1) by C.M. Stunich . She's got so many series out there! I hate it when anyone has a tragedy in the family. It does make youa tad hesitant as a reader, though...

Fiona Abbott | 8 comments I'm new to RH, but I just read Shoot the Messenger (Messenger Chronicles, #1) by Pippa DaCosta and Game of Lies (Messenger Chronicles, #2) by Pippa DaCosta and really liked them. Slow burn so far, and the third in the series is not yet out, but I will read it when it arrives and I can certainly recommend the first two.

Lady (ladysorela) | 3 comments I've only read one series that I could consider RH, and that was
Charcoal Tears (Seraph Black, #1) by Jane Washington

Which had an amazing story, as well as sexy devoted magical men.

message 15: by Bahijah (new)

Bahijah hasan (firefae18) | 10 comments I’ve found a lot of good reverse harem novels on amazon lately and have read pretty much all the ones you mentioned. For my fellow Godhunter book lovers you should try the other two series written by the author as well that are also RH. Honestly RH is just like anything else you read about, with a great author you’ll love it. If not then it will fall short like many books do.

Here are some of my favorite RH authors

Yumoyori Wilson
Lila Jean
Jasmine Walt
L.L. Frost
Tate James
CM Stunich
Zara Stark
Eva Chase
Cece Rose

I also have reverse harem book list on my profile but really all about your personal genre preferences because sometimes the RH books include a lot of smut fiction novels as you’ll see.

Hanleigh Bradley (hanleighbradley) | 2 comments I've just written my first Reverse Harem, if any of you are interested. It's really interesting hearing your thoughts. My biggest fear writing it was that I wouldn't be able to give each of them men their own voice. I was worried they'd merge in to each other...Cursed By The CrownCursed By The Crown

Debbie M | 414 comments Hanliegh, putting it on my list!
I also like the books by Chloe Adler - she's an author I recently discovered. Check her out if you like paranormal/romance/RH/hot men!

Hanleigh Bradley (hanleighbradley) | 2 comments Awesome. I've seen hers. Haven't read them yet though. :)

message 19: by Victoria (new)

Victoria | 168 comments I haven't read any - a lot of it seems to be an excuse for smut - which is fine, but not something I;m always looking for in a novel. I have read some of the Anita Blake stories, which started to take that direction, and wondered if that was where the trend started

Yeah, I wish there were more UF or PNR where the heroine isn't constantly being forced to play the submissive partner to her male counterparts that basically say, "I claim her," or "you're mine". I mean if your into that stuff that's fine to each his or her own, but I just wish there was more material where the romantic interests were on a more equal footing so to speak.
