Romance Readers Reading Challenges discussion

We (the moderators) have been seeing for a while now a somewhat disturbing trend in several of our threads and challenges where some potentially offensive or judgmental comments have been made. We apologize for not addressing this situation earlier and will be making every effort in the future to make sure this group is a kind and friendly place for everyone.

This is just a reminder to all our members that this is an open group and anyone who wants to join is welcome. We love the diversity of our group, and try to create a comfortable atmosphere for all. Keeping in mind that we allow members of all ages, please make sure your posts are appropriate for our younger members.

Above all else, we want to avoid any discomfort members may feel because they may not read the same genre(s) as some of the other members. It is important that we keep other members' feelings in mind when making comments, and not say things that could be taken as an insult or a dismissal of their interests, feelings, or genre of choice. This includes making an effort when choosing or recommending books for other members to choose books based primarily on THEIR reading tastes and not your own unless they have specifically requested otherwise.

Posts that are considered inappropriate by the moderators will be deleted, and any member who comes across a post that they find denigrating to genre or life choice anywhere in our group is encouraged to PM one of the mods (not Modbot) advising where it is.

Romance readers get judged enough by the outside world – we don't need to be doing the same thing to each other.
