Agreed. The philosophical elements of it would make for a great discussion.

I'm the same way with Dracula. I think it's just because, while that narrative strategy might have been innovative at the time, we've come so far and seen so many different types of strategies employed, that we're a bit jaded. Sort of like seeing the film "The Others", which had the misfortune to come out 6 months after "The 6th Sense", so we were all expecting the ending.
