Oh man, that guy. I used to watch Ancient Aliens for the lulz. Him and Giorgio are hilarious.

I'm reading Batman: The War Years 1939-1945: Presenting over 20 classic full length Batman tales from the DC comics vault!. Got it on sale from Barnes and Noble :)

I'm finishing up The Infernal Devices trilogy

Kaitlin (literatureisforlovers) | 1 comments Wuthering Heights- finding it a little dry.
Most likely going to read "The Hopefuls" next

message 5: by Benjamin (new)

Benjamin Appleby-Dean (benjaminappleby-dean) I'm reading Anne-Marie Mclemore's Wild Beauty

Bill | 464 comments My library hold finally came up, and I can now start Less by Andrew Sean Greer; a humourous look at the life of a middle aged gay man. The book recently won the Pulitzer Prize as best fiction novel of 2018.

Natasha Holme (natashaholme) | 465 comments The Road to Jonestown: Jim Jones and Peoples Temple by Jeff Guinn, a non-fiction story of the cult leader. Quite gripping.

message 8: by Mark (new)

Mark (mchiser) | 12 comments I'm reading Alexander Chee's collection of essays: How to Write an Autobiographical Novel. I love this book!

message 9: by McLennan (new)

McLennan | 1 comments I just finished Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller (and I'm still feeling feelings about it), and now I'm reading a few others, but I'd like to find a few more LGBT+ books to read this month. :)

That's such a great book! I read it last month, and I think I want to re-read before the end of the year.

I'm currently reading The Grace of Kings by Ken Liu. It's a bit of a long slog.

Along similar lines is Beloved and God: The Story of Hadrian and Antinous

Natasha Alterici (natashaalterici) | 3 comments Just finished My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness and the sequel My Solo Exchange Diary. Mostly listening to audiobooks lately, (I like listening while I work on my comics) listened to Annie on My Mind (it was all right) and listening to Inferno right now. I'm liking it. Rhythmic and blunt.

Evan | 2 comments Books I'm planning on reading this month

A Death in Hong Kong: The MacLennan Case of 1980 and the Suppression of a Scandal - Nigel Collett - About the suicide of a gay cop in Hong Kong which leads to a political scandal that was a major impetus for decriminalising homosexuality in Hong Kong.

The Black Tides of Heaven - JY Yang - I bought this on a whim cause it was on special and the cover is gorgeous.

The Lightning-Struck Heart - TJ Klune - Recommended by friends

The Call of Cthulhu - HP Lovrcraft

Bill | 464 comments I'm about to start Lost Memory of Skin by Russell Banks

message 17: by Bryn (new)

Bryn Hammond (brynhammond) | 329 comments Rughum & Najda by Samar Habib. This is what they call a hidden gem. A novel from a scholar on lesbian lives & homosexuality in Muslim history, so this, set in the 9thC, is authentic & complex & so interesting.

Rick | 1767 comments Finished The Outsider in the wee hours this morning. A real addictive page-turner. If you're interested here's my review:

I read My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness earlier this year! I liked it okay, but it wasn't my favorite. How was My Solo Exchange Diary??

message 20: by Torry (new)

Torry (wolfie0001) I'm about to finish reading Stephen King's latest book, The Outsider.

Before that, I read the first three books of the 'Something like ...' series, Something Like Summer, Something Like Autumn and Something Like Winter.

How are you liking it? I enjoyed it quite a bit, but then I'm one of King's Constant Readers. ;)

Venus (venusinvidiosa) | 1 comments I'm about a third of the way through The Grim Company. Not sure if I'm going to finish it. It's a bit cringey so far.

Yeah, I'm one of those too!
I really liked it. And it was nice that Holly made a guest appearance :)

I haven't read the Bill Hodges books yet, so I was a little annoyed with how much info on those books was given - but she seems like an interesting character.

Since King's accident I've been trying to save up between 10-12 books of his to not read as a little insurance in case he dies before me. It's morbid, but I worry about him dying and me not having any new King books to read. I usually read the anthologies as they come out and occasionally something grabs me and I go ahead and a new one. Which is what happened with this one (and Gwendy's Button Box).
