Errin Stevens (errintevens) | 97 comments Not sure what all you love (although I did check you out a bit from your profile), but you might enjoy Updrift & Breakwater? For your perusal: Updrift
Breakwater

Nerdy Werewolf (nerdywerewolf) @Jody, that's pretty broad!! Is there any way you can maybe list some favorite reads from each category? :)

message 4: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodysbookishhaven) Wow give me some time to get some titles I have read together, and I will get them posted. Thank you for at least asking me.

message 5: by Nerdy Werewolf (new)

Nerdy Werewolf (nerdywerewolf) No worries! I don't like to be throwing out recommendations all willy-nilly. My time on Goodreads has taught me that even if I get along with someone really well, that does not mean we have the same taste in books! Haha!

@Errin, I'm going to read these...when I can get my "Oooh-look at that" brain to stop and focus for a second. :)

Jody (jodysbookishhaven) Oh and Vampire Girl

message 9: by Jody (new)

Jody (jodysbookishhaven) I like my Vampires for sure, and my favs are paranormal romances big time. I’m reading two now that I’m finding to be a bit out there even for me one is called Be The Death of Me, and House of Darken, just very different paranormal then what I usually read I guess.

message 10: by Nerdy Werewolf (new)

Nerdy Werewolf (nerdywerewolf) Hmmm....maybe someone else will be more forthcoming with suggestions. I'm a werewolf/shifter girl, myself and not so much into vampires. Here are a few series/books I've read and enjoyed that feature them, though:

These mainly fall under "Urban Fantasy" with a bit of romance, but mostly procedural/action:
Written in Red (The Others, #1) by Anne Bishop -A wholly different type of storytelling which focuses on the world and characters. Highly recommended! I see you read Anne Rice, which means this won't be too dense for you. :)
The Becoming (Anna Strong Chronicles, #1) by Jeanne C. Stein -Features an awesome heroine and a unique location.

Still UF, but with a bit more romance:
Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost -Main character is half-vampire. Did you watch Buffy? If so, you're in for a treat.
Touch the Dark (Cassandra Palmer, #1) by Karen Chance -Ghosts and vampires galore!

Probably my favorite series of all time, this one isn't so much a romance as a very slow burn and features a vampire as one of the main characters:
Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows, #1) by Kim Harrison

By the way, I liked the Twilight series, too. ::winks::

Jody (jodysbookishhaven) Oh Holly I like the werewolf/shifter genre as well. They have some really kick a$$ werewolf/shifter books out for sure.

message 12: by Nerdy Werewolf (new)

Nerdy Werewolf (nerdywerewolf) Oh, well that one might take me a little longer! I mainly read UF but I"ve been diving a bit more into PNR as of late. I bet there are some great titles out there I've never even heard of!

Lol you're adorable - and I so relate!

Jody (jodysbookishhaven) Oh I’ve read some good were’s but I can’t think of them off the top of my head. But I think when you read as many books as we all do it can’t come to the top of your head instantly. And as far as my brain goes half the time it’s on a break.

Errin Stevens (errintevens) | 97 comments Okay if we're talking about werewolf shifter romances, I'm ALL in, ladies! One series I very much enjoyed was T.S. Joyce's "Wolves of Winter's Edge." This was the first: Gentry

Thank you Cathryn :)

message 20: by Nerdy Werewolf (new)

Nerdy Werewolf (nerdywerewolf) @Cathryn, what type of stories do you like? Short, funny, epic, tragic, adventure, etc? What type of characters do you tend to root for the most?

What is a plotline/plot device that you can't stand or are tired of seeing? Are there any type of book that you know you won't like?

message 21: by Tiera (new)

Tiera McMillian (hawtmess) | 6 comments If your into vampires I suggest JR Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood, Kresley Coles Immortals after Dark series the Valkyries are my favorite, and if into demons Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld series!

These 3 authors will blow your mind!

hi, Jody, is it just YA Paranormal or do you also read Adult... I've seen some great ones like JR Wards, Kresley Cole, Lynsay Sands Argeneau Series is Vampire too, as is Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed, but not YA, most definitely Adult due to the sex scenes. I also write Paranormal and I have a True Serial out called, The Bound Series... True Serial means, not standalone, where the previous book ends, the next begins and the story continues. I have 7 out at present and in 2 boxsets on KU if you use that or in single titles wide, as in kindle, kobo, etc., Book 8 is due out next year. I also have a spin-off series out called Eternal Mates Immortal Dating site.
