I'd like to join in, too, but I've never been a part of a buddy read before.

It's quite simple, Jen : you read the book starting the 10th of September (more or less ^^) and you comment here about what you think, you share your wild theories, your love for the Darkling (I'm quite sure I will have to share mine) (and I hope he is as yummy as I've been told), or whatever crosses your mind :)

And we use spoiler tags (click the 'some html is OK' button if you've not used them before and it shows how) so that we don't ruin things for people who are not as far through. :)

It's almost time! ^^ I can't wait to read another Leigh Bardugo book! I've only read The Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic so far when it comes to her works and I adored that. Can't wait XD

The schedule is try to fit in a chapter a day around Words of Radiance and The Waking Fire... 😂

For me it's not WoR and TWF but a chapter a day sounds good to me 😉

For once I think I'm going to be ahead of you (I know, how shocking) because this is going to be my bus reading, so hopefully I will be reading more than one chapter a day... hopefully xD

Realistically, I hope to do a few chapters a day! I'll be aiming to have it done in about a week. Definitely no more than 10 days. We shall see... 😅

I have no idea what my schedule is going to be like... I have 3 buddy reads happening simultaneously, which admittedly was not the best idea 😂

Started this! Read the prologue and liking the writing so far

Read the prologue as well and it reminded me of the begining of Helix (absolutly not the same type of books but well)

@Maria @Elinor I'll be joining in tomorrow after work. I'm so excited to read this series again, I think it was about 5 years ago when I first read it and it and I loved it. I can't even remember the prologue or anything beyond very vague plot points.

I'll make a start tomorrow too :)

I have started! I am about 75 pages in. So far I am enjoying the writing and the story. I am curious to see where it's going. I have a feeling I may read this one pretty quickly. It reads away quite easily.

I started and I'm through chapter 3. Feels like a nice quick read, could just sit here and read it all night if I didn't have so much other stuff to keep up with!

First impressions, (view spoiler)[I like Alina and Mal. I like that they grew up together and now they're in the army.
Those birds attacking them on the Fold were crazy! I'm wondering what Alina's new found ability entails. She just lights stuff up? Haha.

My too, there's just something really unnerving about him.

I'm about 15% in and I don't know why but it makes me want to reread the Shatter me series... I really hope the Darkling is Warner-material or Zuko-material (because I'm also currently watching and being in love with Avatar)

Through chapter 3. (view spoiler)[ how could she be Grisha without ever having known? I wonder what happened when the Grisha came to test them when her and Mal were younger. How could she have failed the test? It seems her power of light would be used against the Darklings eventually. Then the Darklings won't be the most powerful of the Grisha (hide spoiler)]

Otherwise I'm really enjoying it, it's fun and not too complicated (yet)
