It's just so crazy how these challenges go sometimes. I found myself battling with the letter "L" several months back. It was just crazy.

It seems that many of my spelling challenge have tons of R's lately. I've been scraping the bottom of the TBR barrel to find lots of R books to fill in the blanks. Any suggestions?

Yesterday I finished Ripper, even though it is a "paranormal" book, it's more of a mystery/suspense. Kelsey is a PI looking into the disappearance of a college student, who happens to be a shapeshifter. It's written by Lexi Blake, so there's some graphic sex.

Oh, good one, JoAnne. I've added it to my TBR.

Connie, J.D. Robb, Nora Roberts come to mind, but you've probably already read those.

In mystery, there is Robert Galbraith (I love her Cormoran Strike series) and David Rosenfelt. Rhys Bowen writes a hilarious series - Her Royal Spyness Mysteries (it is also tagged as Historical Fiction). A couple of other Historical Fiction Mystery writers - Ruth Downie, Deanna Raybourn and Robert B. Parker. Robert Knott is another source (he took over the writing of the Virgil Cole & Everett Hitch series after Parker's death). For older mysteries, there is Raymond Chandler

I'm not sure if you like Historical Fiction, but M.J. Rose is tagged also as Mystery and Fantasy. Her Reincarnationist series has been really good so far. Jennifer Robson, Alyson Richman, Mary Doria Russell and Ruta Sepetys also write Historical Fiction.

For Romance - what about Karen Robards, Luanne Rice, Aurora Rose Reynolds, Christy Reece, Robin Kaye, Karen Rose, Robyn Carr or Rebecca Zanetti (though you might be saving those for the pesky "Z" letters)?

For Non Fiction, I really like Ron Chernow and Robert Graves
