Any good S&L ones?"

Boneshaker is set in Seattle

Fresno Bob | 602 comments I read The Diary of a Young Girl in Amsterdam the night before going to the Anne Frank house and The Shadow of the Wind in Barcelona

For S+L books, Altered Carbon has large sections that take place in a non-recognizable Mission District in SF where I live

An unreliable narrator who is plausibly either a wizard under restrictions, or maybe just a homeless guy with delusions. The Schrodinger's box remains tantalizingly closed for most of the book.

I really wanted to go to Devil's Island the last time I was in French Guiana, but for the 2nd time, I was foiled. Hopefully when I'm in Kourou for my next launch (not until 2020) I'll finally get to go...

I will remember not to read Papillon simultaneously (but it's been on my "to read" list since my first trip to French Guiana). ;)
