Though I have read the first fifty pages of The Hunger Games
One's I don't intend on reading

Harry Potter--read #1 to my oldest grandson when he was 5--while he was in PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for those inquiring minds) after being diagnosed with Stage 4 Wilms. (Kidney cancer that had metastasized.) He was there on 9-11, so that Harry had a double whammy against him--on top of Voldemort.
Black Dagger Brotherhood--Threw book 1 at the wall yelling at it about why it wasn't edited by someone with more than a second grade education. I did make it through book 2--but it took me 2 months, and again, several throws at the wall. The author has great ideas but really needs to learn to write--or at least to hire a better editor.
The Fever series--I read all of it except the last book because--well I found it probably 2 days after the second to last book came out, so had to read the whole series that had been written up til then. Then, well, I forgot about it because it was sssoooooo long until that last book came out. And, by the time I was reminded about it, I'd pretty much forgotten all about who was what.
I haven't started Game of Thrones and have no plans to until (to quote the song, "Write like the Wind" which is aimed at George R. R. himself) "the great bearded glacier has published 900 pages of pap for the nerds." I refuse to put up with being abused by an author like that. And yes, he IS more than a tad passive aggressive and it shows in his refusing to meet his obligations. So my money stays in my purse.
I read the first 2 or 3 Vampire Academy books and went off them--again, I hated waiting for the next book to come out because I didn't remember who was what. Which meant, to me, that they weren't worth worrying about, or they'd have made more of an impression.
There are others out there, but I am going to go watch a movie with the hubby, so I'm going to leave it at those.

The Hunger Games
The Lunar Chronicles
The Infernal Devices

Oh man, you haven't grown up with Narnia?? A MUST read! Also, the Divergent series is awesome (although no one likes the final ending, me included. So much, that they had to change the movie version so people wouldn't get angry.)

Yes I grew up without Narnia :( I did recently get the series as a gift so I intend on trying them out. The Divergent series I'm still on the fence about, so many people I know hated how they ended that I'm a bit scared lol. I haven't seen any of the movies so I won't know the difference at least if I do read them lol
