If they made a movie...

Agreed RE:Ralph Backshee. His attempt wasn't great and some of his characterisation like the cave troll in the mines of Moria for example were like something that would have worked in Bored of the Rings. /his baffling decision to refer to Saruman as Aruman means he'd be fine with name changes like Arrowroot, Frito and Dildo bugger.

I've been thinking for years now, what a shame it was that Ralph Bakshi tried to make a serious adaptation of "Lord of the Rings," when he was BORN to adapt "Bored of the Rings." The book's cartoony, yet R-rated humor would be right up his alley, and his cheap-looking, oldschool style would fit perfectly with the 1960s themes.
But I could also see this being made by a more modern/mainstream cartoonist, like the creators of "The Amazing World of Gumball." I feel like if they made a "Bored of the Rings" movie, the characters should be animated (in a very toony style), but some of the backgrounds and monsters they meet could be photo-realism, or some other style, a la "Monty Python" or "Spongebob."
Thoughts?
