Charles Vrooman (greenpower) | 135 comments I can’t believe that when I started writing my biotech thriller, “The True Virus”, almost two years ago, it would be so timely today with everything taking place in our world right now. First, the story revolves around the last major Gaza/Israeli war. I was able to show how each side felt about the other through fictional characters during that conflict.
Second, the plot involves a Hamas bioterrorist who hacks into the new DNA component of the CIA’s main computer and plants a program to create an Ebola virus which results in an epidemic in Bethlehem. Therefore, the readers of this novel will be able to relate to the news headlines of today in regards to the recent Gaza/Israeli war and the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

Skye | 2105 comments Charles; how very odd, but maybe not; we are all truly facing multiple crises all over; the Ebola is particularly frightening, and we have all the elements of a 'perfect WW'

Afsana (afsanaz) | 179 comments but can u as a writer really say that u have shown how each side feels or just tried to show how u think they feel. the reader maybe able to judge whether they feel what u have set out for them to feel.

why stick with the stereotype and say its Hamas why not be different and make a point that everyone can do these type of thing and so set the Israeli government as the villain.
it does seem that the Israeli government r killing more people and indiscriminately so would fit. otherwise ur story is like all the others

Charles Vrooman (greenpower) | 135 comments Here’s an excerpt from “The True Virus” depicting a conversation between two members of the Israeli Defense Forces just before they invaded Gaza to show how I tried to portray how they thought and felt.
[Sergeant Epstein knew that Lieutenant Shulman was aware that he was a veteran of Operation Rainbow which was an Israeli military campaign against Gaza in May of 2004. The main objective of this new assault was to clear terrorist infrastructure and find smuggling tunnels in and around Rafah. So since they would be entering the same territory as the 2004 battle, he knew his expertise would be important in this clash. Therefore, with confidence he said. “Believe me sir; there will be lots of these Al-Qassam fighters left. These damn Palestinians know how to hide. I’ve been up against these bastards before. Most of them are hiding in homes behind women and children. Our jets have been told not to fire at civilian targets, that’s why most of the Hamas militants are still over there. We can’t worry about civilians. As far as I’m concerned everyone over there is our enemy.”
“Sergeant, Captain Auerbach gave us orders not to fire on any civilians unless they fire at us.”
“Sir, I’ve seen buddies of mine killed by some innocent looking Palestinian woman running up to them looking like she was going to give them a big hug, but instead blew herself up and them too.”
“I understand sergeant, but we must try and not kill civilians. Our orders are to be the infantry support for Captain Auerbach’s tanks. We are only to engage with Al-Qassam fighters who fire at us.”
“Sir, they all look alike. All I’m trying to say is to watch out. When you see one of them running at you, point your gun at them and yell halt. If they don’t stop, then kill them.”
“Okay sergeant, I’ll agree to that. You’ve been through this before, so I’ll trust your judgment.”]

Afsana (afsanaz) | 179 comments from the orig post it its states hamas being willing to release deadly virus. hamas is the bday as portrayed by all media both writing and TV. and even in the latest post. the Israeli government do not want to kill any one unless absolutely sure but oh reluctantly faced with all Palestinians being suicide bombers will heroically go against their principles and shoot anyone who is Palestine and cones. towards then and can't stop in time
