AHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHA

don't make me laugh at work.

Sure, I have no current task assigned, hence me being on challenge setup mode, but we're at the client's site, meaning I am supposed to look professional.

message 106: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Okay.. just a little teaser, because the wheels mod has yet to give her stamp of approval. So things may still change a little.

*runs in search of graphics*

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments

We are using holiday themes for the wheel: 2 weeks for Halloween, 2 weeks for Thanksgiving and last 2 weeks for Christmas.

Each wheel will have 24 words matching the corresponding theme, from which 2 would be colours:
- Halloween Colours: Black and Purple
- Thanksgiving Colours: Orange and Brown
- Christmas Colours: Red and Green

Melissa | 3779 comments I love it!!!!

Keli | 1321 comments So it's a Halloween, Christmas & Valentines indirect door wheel-a-ton team challenge?

message 110: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments And here's the video that Karen used to temp me with the theme back in May the cause of it all

Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas Wheel-a-thon.

Those wheels above are the ones we'll be using for the challenge.

Don't worry for them to be too small to read, we'll post a big one, with the words before sign-up.

Ah, but which holidays? Arbor day? National vodka day (Oct. 4)? International sloth day (Oct. 20)? Pickle day (Nov. 14)?

I've seen those lists of weird holidays. Clearly I just referenced one of them. What have your chipmunks been whispering to you?

International Sloth Day! Where do I sign up??

And shome mishtake, shurely! it should be the day after Vodka Day, no?

message 114: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 8052 comments If we can't go with pickle day, then this looks even better!

Keli | 1321 comments I love it! I was typing my message as Sonia posted the wheel. NBC is one of the best animations ever. I debated getting a Jack skellington tattoo.

My typing is soooo bad

Jenny | 8052 comments I looked at the archive for a wheel challenge, but I must have seen a different one to what you are planning. How do the colors come in?

message 118: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Now imagine how good it was to try to write Harry Potter themed tasks for classes when This is halloween was playing on my mind....

message 119: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 3779 comments The wait is going to be foreverrrrrrrrrr! hahaha I love the Holiday time of year :D

@Jenny, during Wobble we got bonus points for books with the colour in the title & such.

My team spent a LOT of time with brown colour tasks.
I still get a nervous twitch when I think about it.

There should be (and probably is) an international hangover cure day, but it probably follows international tequila shooter day!

The last Uno game had a challenge in it for weird holidays in April. There was one for every day of the month. People have too much time on their hands.

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Jenny wrote: "I looked at the archive for a wheel challenge, but I must have seen a different one to what you are planning. How do the colors come in?"

We had two wheel-a-thons in the past (besides the wobble edition).

First wheel was book genre. Second wheel was colors. This time we wanted to go a step forward, and what better excuse than to do a holiday challenge during holiday season?

That or the UF reader in me just wanted an excuse to read books about vampires and ghosts and werewolves. LOL. But, since we're a multi-genre group, let add some Cookies and Mistletoe and Thanksgiving blessings into the Cauldron.

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Cat wrote: "I still get a nervous twitch when I think about it."

Can you imagine the giggle fit I had when I googled thanksgiving colors and got orange, brown and red?

I had to get out to grab some air.

That I can.

I am so pleased my suffering brings you happiness.

Though if you sort me into a team with brown in the name I shall not be held responsible!

gah! that's totally going to happen now, isn't it??

had to go & open my stupid mouth, didn't I?
*grumbles to self about own idiocy*

message 126: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments *looks at team names*

No brown in name. Lots of brown characters though,....

I guess if I get short in team names I can make an exception to you...

Like Team Brown Twitchy Eye or something

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Melissa wrote: "The wait is going to be foreverrrrrrrrrr! hahaha I love the Holiday time of year :D"

Hence the teaser thread.

That way we don't have to suffer alone.

We have been spinning the wheels just for fun... to help with the wait... spoiler alert...it doesn't.

message 128: by Melissa (new)

Damn... spreading the impatience is so evil of you!!! How could you do that to us?!?!?!?!

message 132: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Or maybe not, because if everything goes according to plan that one will be restricted to a small group of participants. So no need for a vast universe.

We'll see.

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Melissa wrote: "Damn... spreading the impatience is so evil of you!!! How could you do that to us?!?!?!?! "

Me? I just wanted to call dibs on my team name. I was not to tease so soon. But hey, I've been in creativity land, so I'm not the one seeing stuff puzzling itself together. Just ticking stuff as completed.

The Harry Potter based tower teams was a great power boost to my inner chip'n dale. They're unstoppable. And since that darn thing is contagious, we're all in a roll of crazy ideas.

message 134: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 3779 comments i don't blame you - I would want to claim my team name too :D

I love it! You all are always so creative it makes the challenges much more fun and challenging. Share away with the ideas it keeps the excitement alive haha

The first few seasons of Bones are really cool!
Not at all close to the books but well done on their own with interesting characters who grow over the episodes/seasons.

message 147: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 3779 comments Yes, it is a very interesting show! You should at least try it out :)

message 148: by Jenny (new)
